"But what about now? What will we do when we arrive?
We have no money, no house, no nothing!
We should have never came, this is wrong!
No no no no, this can't be happening... I can not have regrets right know! we will find a way to make things better, all of us. Together. Always."
Why am I having this bad feelings right know? My mind is killing me. There is no way we are going back. In front is the future, and we gonna make it better, than we could have ever imagine it would be.
We will filt our own house if we have to.Teach our kids how the write and read. But we will never, never give up.
There are so many doubts in my mind... I need to ask someone. Anyone. Maybe the girl who asked our names right before we got in the ship, she will know something, right?!
Sudenlly I stand by my feet and ask my mother if she can take an eye on my babies.
"What happen to the 'no walking in the ship' roule?" Luís asked, a little annoyed.
"Happen that I am the one who make the roules here , and you are the ones who should follow them, young boys." I say trying to hide my laught from them.
I walk down the lobby, and see the bloond girl hair trought the crowd.
"Miss! Miss! Can I talk to you please?"
"Is there any problem?" She said tourning, to face me.
"Ohw, well no. But I have some quentions going trought my mind ever since I put my feet in this ship, and I would really appreciate if you could help me take my doubts away" I sayed, while the women now in front of me, smile.
"Oh, ask then... I will try to take your doubts away."
My heart start betting pretty fast. Why? Well maybe because, in one hand I don't know which question to ask first, and the other one, what if I won't like her answers.
"How is it?! In there, Lisbon, is it like they say? Like a fairytale?" I ask, knowing that I sond like a child talking.
"Well like a fairytale, I would say. But samething magicle it is, absolutely"
A gasp goes out of my mouth. Thats good...
"And what about us? what will happen to us, as soon as we arrive?"
"For what as been told me, every family will be reintegrated into society..."
"How?" I asked without letting her finish her sentence.
"By giving them a place to live, and jobs in some factories around the area, for the grown up, I guess. And the children will go to school, most certainly.
My chest was lighter.
"Are you sure, miss?"
She nodded.
"Well then, forgive me, but you were wrong, this is for sure a fairytale"
She laughted at my exprecion of happyness.
"Did I take your doubts away?" She asked.
"Yes, you seriously did. Thank you so much. And forgive me for taking your time."
"Oh it's nothing, I'm glad I helped you. See you when we land." She said walking away.
As she walked away, and went back to where my family were, with a stupid smile on my face.
"Where were you I was starting to get warried!"
"Owh, I'm sorry mother. I had my mind against me, so I went to ask someone a few things. And mother you will not believe it, we are actually living in some kind of fairytale. Did you knew we will have our how jobs. And my babies, they will be educatted, they will go to school and learn things that would never be possible, in that place we used to call home..."
"Calm down sweetheart... But that is so good, we will, at last, have a good place to call home..."
