Eyeliner usually plays a big part in the emo look. Females usually go with big lashes and eyeliner on their top eyelid and/or waterline.
Guys usually go with simple eyeliner on the waterline and sometimes a bit under the eye.
Raccoon eyes are okay, too. Just don't go overboard.
If you need help there are a lot of tutorials online.
