{Media is fight training}
I noticed in a lot of books on Wattpad fight sequences are often very minor and only a couple punches and kicks are thrown. I'm not saying this about all books, it's just that often it's like:

Percy threw a punch at {Insert Evil Guy/Henchmen Here} and hit him in the nose. {Evil Guy} fell to the floor, knocked out, and Percy stabbed and slashed through the {Insert Greek Monsters Here} to approach {Supreme Cliché Evil Lord}.

(This is actually okay, I love short stuff like this to get to the cool fights, but if it's always like this....)

I am a Martial Artist and Kickboxer [CatNinjasaremyBae GRAVEL] and I will have a couple really cool fight scenes in my newer books, unlike the one above. Technical terms like clinch, Superman Punch (Yeah, that's a real thing), and arm bar will be explained later. Improved fight sequence:

Percy parried his opponent's jab and sidestepped under his follow-up cross. Ducking under for cover, the son of Poseidon threw his arm over {Evil Henchmen Name}'s neck and brought his elbow up, angling down and cracking {Evil Henchmen}'s nose with the tip of his elbow.

Released from Percy's clinch, {Evil Henchmen} fell to the floor, unconscious. The hero paused his crusade and checked his elbow, and with a little yelp of, "Funny bone!" Percy joined the fight for Camp Halfblood again.

I really need to work on hand-to-hand more, he thought. I'm to used to using my powers as a backup when I'm waiting for Riptide. Is this how Annabeth always feels?

Percy was (literally) knocked out of his thoughts with a sharp blow to the side of his head by {Supreme Cliché Evil Lord}

This shows and impresses said audience that this character has had fight training. Adding a bit of humor in is always a plus. I'm terrible at adding jokes to my books, so... Don't follow most of my advice.

Just saying.

And for those who listen, try to take Martial Arts. I'm fricking awesome now. It gives you self confidence.
Example above. ^^^

I guess my alter Nomos is heavy on the ego.

Get it?
