I bolted through the streets. Man, I was running as hard as I could. Every time I took a breath, it hurt. The air was drying out my throat and I didn't like it one bit, but I kept running.

I should've stopped running. I mean, it's Dally, he's had the most trouble with the police. He should know how to handle them by now.

By the time I got there, everyone was there. There were police surrounding and the guys were just comin' up. What in the world is that man doing?!

He was reaching for something... A heater! If it's a heater, he's dead. He's going to be dead.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Dally!" I yelled. I was still far from him, too far to rip the gun out of his hands. Rushing, I took my shoe off and thew it at his head. I made my way over to him.

I felt like I became an added suspect in this. Everyone was watching this happen. The guys, the police, some innocents.

"What are you doing?!" I yelled "You're gonna die!" I grabbed the gun out of his hand.

"Bree..." Was all he said "I can't do this, man! What are you doin'? I thought we were done for good!"

"It doesn't mean you go and fucking rob a place! Seriously, use your head!" I groaned "What's dying gonna do for you? You just wanna die like a dog on the streets?!"

"Hey!" I heard one of the guys yell. I wasn't too sure who. "Aubrey, get out of there!"

BAM.

I heard it, but wasn't sure what sure what it hit.

"Dally!" I yelled.

But then, I realized

what just happened.

At that moment, the gun fell out of my hands.

"Bree?!" Dally yelled as I fell to the floor. Shit, this hurt. The things I have to do for this boy.

"I'm fine." I assured. He held my hand and kneeled over my body. I got shot in the fucking leg. I didn't do anythin' wrong. Bitch ass cops.

I was being cuffed. I didn't exactly struggle free. Dally had two police officers forcing his hands behind his back and handcuffed him. I can't believe it. I'm bein' arrested just because Dallas was stupid.

I watched Ponyboy try to run for me, but was being held back too. Not by police, but the boys.

I couldn't hear anything but police sirens and Dallas saying "I'm sorry!" millions of times. Sure, I'll get over being SHOT IN THE LEG soon. But that doesn't make him and I any better.

What a great way to end the day, huh? Finding out my boyfriend was a cheater, my close friend dies, talked to my dad, got shot, and got arrested! Fun!

I looked up to see everyone hovering around Ponyboy. He fell onto the ground. Dammit, I knew that kid was sick. Dammit! He's dumb sometimes. He needs to learn how to admit to needing help.
