One Year Later...
"Scarlett!" My mother calls.
"Yeah mum I'm coming!" I shout back.
I pull my long hair into a pony tail and pick up the last box in my room to carry to the furniture van that has been parked outside the house for the past three hours, filling with our small amount of furniture.
"Have you gotten everything?" Mum asks as I walk out of my room and towards her standing in the front doorway.
"Yeah." I reply, lifting the box in my hands to show her.
After living in this town for a year it has finally come to my mums senses that we can't live here. We missed our old house and town and our old friends, not that I had many, especially since Harry and I were no longer on speaking terms, but we will get to that soon. So today was the day that we were finally leaving this miserable excuse of a town, and I wasn't upset at all. I made a few friends at the school I was attending, but nothing serious. I never had one sleepover while I lived here, the only thing I ever did was go to the small discount store with Kacey my science partner to buy things for our science assignment. I haven't spoken to Harry for at least a year now. The night that I kissed Harry I knew things would never be the same. Anne and Harry left the next morning and we texted on and off for at least a month but it was never the same. My feelings for him had grown tremendously, I craved to feel his lips on mine again, but I regretted that night more than anything because it led to us not talking at all, and that hurt more than you will ever know. I was nervous to go back to the town, who would I be friends with? Harry was my only friend but we haven't spoken a word to each other for more than a year. It was hard to get used to not talking to him, it was like something in my routine of life, probably considering we had used to talk every day.
"Are you excited to see Harry?" Mum asked.
If you hadn't realized, she didn't know that we don't talk anymore.
"Yeah, definitely!" I say, trying to put as much enthusiasm into it as possible.
After a long three hour drive, we finally drive past the town welcome sign. Everything looks exactly the way it used to look. The same gardens full of flowers on the sides of the road, the houses along the streets, I missed this place so much. Mum pulls into a driveway of a large brick house, the front yard perfectly trimmed and the trees all cut to perfection. When mum had told me that we couldn't get back into our old house I was upset at first but than I got used to the idea of living in a new, modern house that looked a lot more expensive than it really was. The furniture van pulls up on the street and two men got out, opening the back of the van and start carrying boxes full of our belongings out. I I grab my things that were in the car and walk to the front door. Mum opens the door and we walk inside. It's a gorgeous house with beautiful wooden floors.
"Your room is the room on the left." Mum says as she carries a large box to the kitchen.
I enter the room and it is huge with fluffy white carpet, white walls and a large window.
"How is it?" Mum asks, standing at the doorway.
"Its so nice Mum!" I say, hugging her tightly."I'm glad you like it." She says, brushing my hair. "How about we go out for a little lunch while we let these men get everything where it needs to be so we wont be in there way."
"Yeah sure." I say as my stomach rumbles just thinking about food.
I wait for mum in the car while she instructs the men on where everything needs to be placed. After ten minutes of explaining she finally gets into the car.
"Okay, where too?" She asks.
"How about that little burger place I always used to go to?" I say.
"Oh yes, I remember you and Harry going there at least twice a week." She says, laughing and pulling out onto the street.
Sadness washes over me just thinking about all the time we spent there together, laughing and having fun. We pull into the restaurants parking lot and get a park right near the entrance.
The smell when we enter brings back so many memories and we take a seat in a booth at the back of the restaurant, it was Harry and I's spot.
"What do you want hunny?" She asks and I tell her my order.
"Okay I'll go tell them now, be right back." She says and leaves me sitting in the booth with memories rushing through my mind.
I sigh and pick up my glass of water that I got when I entered, taking a sip.
"Excuse me, you're going to have to move, this is my spot." A deep voice says and I look up, spitting my mouthful of water all over a blonde haired girl who happens to be standing right next to the one and only Harry.
Hey guys so I went back and changed this chapter because I really wasn't happy with how I had it, so I hope you like it!!
