I had traveled for days until I came across a small town, to resupply. I've been hearing rumors that the Avatar was found in the Southern Water Tribe, then had traveled to Kyoshi Island. However, when I arrived at the island, they were already long gone. Now I'm stuck with no leads.

"I'm not going to find him by rumor alone," I muttered, "I wish there was a better way to find him."

The town I found myself in, was in pretty bad shape. I first thought the Fire Nation was responsible, but there were no signs of a fire bender attack. After talking with the people in town, I learned that they had been plagued by an angry spirit. I decided to try and help, but I had no idea how to handle a spirit. As I meditated in the main hall of the village, I tried to think of a way to handle the spirit.

"How does one even defeat a spirit?" I thought, "If the Avatar was here, he might be able to do something about it. But seeing as he's not, it's up to me to help this town....I just wish I knew how."

"Our village is in crisis, and he's our only hope!" pleaded an old man.

I looked near the entrance of the hall and saw three kids, two boys and one girl. One of the boys and the girl looked to be from the Water Tribe, from their outfits. The other boy however was different; he didn't look like he was of the Water Tribe or from the Earth Kingdom or Fire Nation for that matter. He also had a blue arrow tattoo on his bald head.

"For the last few days, at sunset, a spirit monster comes and attacks our village," explained the old man, "He is Heibi, the black and white spirit."

"Why is it attacking you?" asked the Water Tribe boy.

"We do not know," said the village leader, "But each of the last three nights, he's abducted one of our own. We're especially fearfully because the Winter Solstice draws near."

"What happens then?" asked the girl.

"As the Solstice approaches, the natural world and the spirit world grows closer and closer until the line between them is blurred completely," explained the old man.

"Heibi is already causing devastation and destruction," explained the leader, "Once the Solstice is here, there's no telling what could happen."

"So what do you want me to do exactly?" asked the arrow boy.

"Who better to resolve a crisis between our world and the spirit world than the Avatar himself?" said the old man.

"Wait, what?!" I thought, "That kid is the Avatar?"

The three kids went to discuss something, then I decided to find out if this kid is truly the Avatar, "It wouldn't hurt to talk to them, I guess."

"Maybe whatever I have to do will just come to me," smiled the arrow kid as a lemur jumped on his shoulder.

"I think you can do it Aang," encouraged the girl.

"Yeah, we're all going to get eaten by a spirit monster," said the Water Tribe boy with less confidence.

"It's dangerous to mess with spirits," I said getting their attention, "You sure you know what you're doing?"

"Of course he does," said the girl, "If anyone can do it, he can."

"I'm not so sure," I said.

"I have to at least try," said the arrow kid, "I am the Avatar."

"So he believes himself to be the Avatar?" I thought still not convinced.

"Who are you anyway?" asked the Water Tribe boy.
