I awoke in a strange place, in a place I had never seen before. People surrounded me and I had no clue what to say or do.
“Good. She’s awake. Robin, get her up to date,” an unforgettable voice ordered. It was Batman – Bruce Wayne. I knew it had to be. I pulled myself up from the leather lounge that I had been resting on and looked around, a little confused. I didn’t see Batman anywhere – instead, it was four other people; one wearing a mainly red outfit, with black and green, the second was someone dressed quite casually, the third was someone in blue and black and the fourth was a man in a tuxedo. Perhaps I was dreaming.
“Hi,” the guy in the red, black and green waved at me, trying to get my attention.
“Er… hi?” I replied. Maybe I was going crazy instead…
“Alright, so, I’m Robin, this is Emerald,” he started, pointing to the girl on his right, “that’s Nightwing and finally, that is Alfred. I’m sure you already know the big, bad bat.”
I laughed and looked around the room, sitting up properly. Everything was amazing and so different; it was all a massive room filled with different ‘souvenirs’ and whatnot from different experiences Batman had had; some with the Joker, some with Penguin, and some with villains I had never even heard of. As if realising what I had found so intriguing, the guy calling himself Robin turned around and looked at the scenery with me.
“Yeah, it’s pretty amazing. One guy is able to do so much to help the community. Just don’t tell him, or he’ll get an even bigger head than he already has.” He chuckled and smiled at me, before looking at Emerald in pure admiration, her with the same gleam in her eye.
“Don’t let him hear you. I’m sure you all want to keep your heads,” a voice from somewhere in the dark of the room rustled through the air, soon followed by one sexy god. In a struggle to keep from drooling over the sight of his rippled abs and gorgeous black hair that fell over his eye, my jaw fell and I saw a smirk arise on his face, turning mine bright red.
“Hi…” I mumbled, still admiring the godly being that was in front of me. His outfit clung to him in all the right places, and I found myself so zoned out that I didn’t even realise that he was talking to me.
“Uh, hello?” he asked, waving in front of my face. Great job, Lani. Great job.
“Hi… again…” By now, I must have looked as though I was practicing to be a victim of severe sunburn with how embarrassed I was.
“Are you feeling alright?”
“Fine never better why would I not be feeling alright it’s not as though I was almost killed by someone I don’t even know who was actually trying to kill me and I still can’t believe it God you’re hot...” I was speaking so quickly that I didn’t even know what half of what I said actually was, nor did I know if it was coherent or not. Mentally, I cursed for being such an idiot, but it seemed that he found it kind of funny.
“Why, thank you.” Damn it, he just had to hear that bit, didn’t he.
“So… uh… where am I?” I asked, trying to stand up, before being pushed back down by the girl who was being called ‘Emerald’.
“You’re in the Batcave!” she squealed excitedly, beaming at me.
“Uh-huh? Riiight… Because I know what that means.” Rolling my eyes sarcastically, I continued to stand up and started walking around, investigating the room. “And why is there a giant T-Rex in the middle of the room?”
There was, literally, a giant T-Rex in the middle of the room! I had no idea how it got there, and I was sure I didn’t want to know. I stared at it intently, my focus only on the dinosaur, and almost wet myself when it started to move!
“Oh God, oh God, oh God!” I panted, stepping back as quickly as I could, falling into the strong arms of someone behind me. Turning around, I saw Nightwing behind me, but he wasn’t holding onto me. Instead, it was Batman, giving me a stern look. With a nervous chuckle, I stood up and walked backwards a few steps, mumbling “Sorry…”
“I’m glad to see you’re feeling okay,” he said with next to no emotion.
“Yeah, because you certainly look it…” Instantly, I regretted saying anything, seeing his eyes narrow at me. “I’m sorry!”
With a vague nod, Batman looked at Nightwing, who strutted forward in all his sexiness, and instructed him to show me to my room. “We can’t take any chances,” he said.
If I got to see this man because of a near-death experience caused by Scarecrow, remind me to thank him next time I go to Arkham Asylum!
