Hey everybody,

I am Xara Aynatten and today I would like to confess something. I am straight. I have known it all my life, but I wasn't sure if I should tell everybody. So today I decided to open up.

Confused??

Well, I have seen a lot of videos on YouTube, read blogs online, etc. about people coming out. I thought even I should express my sexual preferences to the world. Truthfully, I don't understand the idea of coming out of the closet because nobody owes any explanation to people about their life. Whether a person is gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, asexual, etc. depends on the person and does not concern any onlookers.

No, I don't have a problem with people telling the world about their sexuality, but I do have a problem with the fact that they have to. And if people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual, etc. have to announce it and give an explanation, then why not people who are straight.

I just want everybody to realize that everybody is the same and yet different in their own ways. We must respect others choice of life and/or preferences etc. I don't think any holy books tell us to look down at anybody who is different from you. Just because you see a lot of people who are straight, it doesn't mean that being not-straight is wrong. We should all keep our minds open to things we don't know about. Lastly, stereotyping people isn't a very good idea because one judging a book by its cover isn't smart and second if one book by a writer is good doesn't mean all his/her books are.

That's it for now.

By they way a huge shout out and salute in respect to people like Tyler Oakley, Joey Graceffa, Ellen Degeneres,  Melissa Etheridge,  Queen Latifah,  Chris Colfer, etc. who not only worked hard and earned their fame but also didn't let the opinions of others put them down.

Until next time,

Xara:)
