People, Places, and Things you should know for Chapter 2:

1. Characters, Places, Terminology and Events in the Harry Potter book series

--

Draco wondered where he should go. He hadn't really had the chance to travel much before, what with school and Father's close eye on the Malfoys' only heir. The only other places of magic he was at all familiar with were Beauxbatons Academy and Durmstrang Institute, but those places were too far for what travel magic he was capable of (Apparition could only take you so far unless you were as powerful as the Dark Lord). Besides, how would he ever find them, Unplottable as they were. Plus, Beauxbatons was a girls' school! Why was he even considering it??

Exhausted and hungry, Draco quickly transfigured a small stool from a luscious fern plant he found in the Forbidden Forest's and sat down to rest. He hadn't had time to nick food from the kitchens before he fled Hogwarts, and cursed Gamp's Law as he scanned the forest for something edible. He looked around desperately for berries, mushrooms, a small thestral...

Yes! In a clearing just ahead, Draco found a patch of edible wildflowers. Of course, his tutors back at the manor only focused on poisonous plants to use against enemies, but there was an unintended lesson on non-dangerous plants that he learned from it all, too. He eagerly got up, the pull from his stomach getting stronger as he approached his food. Finally he reached the clearing. Draco stepped toward the wildflowers, and reached down a hand to grab them...

...and then he stepped on them. Infuriated with himself, Draco was tempted to Cruciatus Curse the offending foot off when, all of a sudden, the pull in his gut dragged him away from the now-crippled flowers and deeper into the forest. Draco stumbled along, mystified by the invisible hook in his gut that pulled him through the trees. Alarmed and quite angry from hunger, he whipped out his wand and sent curses through the trees, trying to sever the magical connection that dragged him forward. "What kind of - Diffindo! - fucking magic - Reducto! - is this shit?? - Sectumsempra!" yelled Draco, in between spells.

Three hours later, Draco nearly dropped his wand in exhaustion. He hadn't eaten since before the Battle of Hogwarts, and had exhausted his magic trying to sever the seemingly benign but seriously annoying magnetic hook from his gut. Plus, he had been walking in a straight line for hours. It was so bad that at one point in his exhausted delirium, he had the horrible realization that there might not be an end to this curse, and that he may very well walk himself to death. Draco imagined horrific deaths for himself, like walking off cliffs or rounding the world and bumping into Potter again and begging the Boy-Who-Lived to show mercy and kill him quickly... then Draco slammed his shoulder into a tree trunk, which knocked him back into his senses. He continued to walk warily, wand in hand, occasionally summoning what food he found along the way into his hand as he passed by through the forest.

Finally, while munching on a handful of blueberries he found, Draco realized he was nearing the forest edge. The woods started to thin, and he could hear excited voices beyond the forest. Draco tossed the berries, and quickly straightened out his clothes. He sighed in relief at the sight of the Muggle clothes he donned before leaving Hogwarts (he had stolen them from a fifth-year Mudblood), not knowing whether he'll encounter Muggles or Wizards beyond the forest edge. He Scourfigy-ed the sweat off his body and used his hands to straighten his hair; he was a Malfoy after all, and it wouldn't do to misrepresent one of the oldest, Pureblood families by looking like a Weasley.

Along the same line of thought, Draco corrected his stumbling walk back to his normal, drawling gait and put on his signature smirk. And then, he stepped out of the forest.

A/N

Hey Guys,

So I didn't exactly introduce a new character... but I did post, like, waaaaaaay before I said I would. I hope you have been appeased! Also, you can bet money that Draco'll meet SEVERAL new characters when he finally emerges from the Forbidden Forest. Can you guess who they might be? ;-)

Also, is it just me, or do you fangirls (and boys) out there think Draco Malfoy in Muggle clothing = super hott? (/._.)/\(._.\) YAAAS #MarryMeTomFelton

And as always, let me know in the comments who you would like to see in the future chapters, and I'll see what I can do. **Instructions: only comments in THIS paragraph will be considered.** For new readers who skip through my A/Ns, this story basically mashes all stories and possibilities that exist in our world into one HUGE fanfic, so feel free to list anyone you'd like in the comments. You may comment as many times as you'd like! If you want to list yourself, just give me a one or two liner describing yourself and what name you would like to use. I definitely have space in the story for several cameos~~ (be safe when giving out information! nothing too personal, please!). Your participation would help me a LOT in making THWOT characters be truly diverse. Thanks in advance for contributing :D

Next chapter will be posted by: shall we say Feb Sat 6, again? ;-)

Peace (._.)v

MINI-Glossary for Lazy People (like me!)

Beauxbaton Academy of Magic, Durmstrang Institute: two alternative schools of magic that are introduced in the Harry Potter series aside from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry [reference: Harry Potter]

Forbidden Forest: (aka "Dark Forest") a forest full of dangerous and wild magical creatures. It is one of the physical borders of Hogwarts Castle [reference: Harry Potter]

Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration: a law governing the magical world (akin to laws that govern the physical world -- e.g. Laws of Thermodynamics). Food is one of Five Principal Exceptions to Gamp's Law, disallowing it to be magically created outright from nothing [reference: Harry Potter]

Thestral: a magical creature that is visible to only those who have seen death [reference: Harry Potter]

Crucio, Diffindo, Reducto, Sectumsempra, Scourgify: spells used within the world of Harry Potter. In the same order, the effect of the spells are: extreme pain, cuts the target, destroys solid objects, cuts with invisible sword, and cleans target [reference: Harry Potter]

Wizard/Witch, Muggle, Mudblood: terms used by the Magical community to categorize people. In the same order, the terms describe: a person with magic, a person without magic, and a person with magic born from Muggles [reference: Harry Potter]

Weasleys: an ancient, Pureblood family as old as the Malfoys. They are one of the very few such families that oppose Lord Voldemort throughout history. Because of this and the fact that they are poor, they are looked down upon by other Purebloods [reference: Harry Potter]
