Once we arrived at the party we saw that, people were literally flooding out of the doors. We made it in after getting pushed by tens of party goers. As soon as we got in, I spotted Kathy and her date by the bar. Hand in hand, we went towards the bar and I tapped Kathy's shoulder. She turned around looking mesmerized.

"Excuuuuse meee, do I know youu!?" She asked sarcastically. She had obviously had one too many to drink. I smiled.

"Kathy... Its me, Riley. Come on, how many times do I have to tell you not to drink that much eh?"

She shrugged.

"Alright mum. I'm sorry ok? Just please don't ground me." She did the puppy dog face and at that all four of us fell into heaps of laughter. Kathy's date; George stopped laughing and face me and J.

George stared into my eyes for a moment too long. I'm not too sure why but I felt something within me pull forward, almost making me feel slightly sick. It turned out the party was in fact on the same day as George's birthday so it partly made sense for the party to take place at his house.

George was an attractive guy. His blue eyes were so alluring, at one moment I felt myself lost in them. The blonde hair of his clearly suited him as the streaks of brown added to his hotness. Since when the hell did I get so dreamy over a guy? I shook myself out of the trance.

"Excuse us, I think Kathy deserves a dance." Kathy giggled and George finally broke his stare, leading her to the dance floor.

"You look stunning by the way." Kathy managed to whisper in my ear.

After hours of nonstop dancing and drinking, J's mood was changing. He was acting really nice, too nice. As he owed me something so I asked him if we could go onto the balcony for some fresh air. He agreed. I sat on the edge of the roof with my legs dangling off the side. Unlike Kathy, I did know when to stop drinking before it became too much. I glanced at J's watch, it read 11:15. I should be heading home in half an hour or so.

"Hey, whats up?" I asked J. It was time he opened up.

"Look I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

"For what I have to do. But I want you to know that I really really like you and I would never do anything to hurt you. You'll always come first. Ever since I saw you, I've been feeling really guilty but... I was sent to do this, forced to and if I didn't do it they said they would hurt you.. trust me. I don't want that." He was waffling on which meant he was nervous. Nervous about what?

"I have a plan," He continued. "When I take you, I'm going to protect you and I will tell you all the information you need to get through all of this, I--" I cut him off.

"Woah woah woah. Who said a what? Calm down J, please. Tell me from the start." I reached for his hand.

He sighed. "Listen and believe everything I'm about to say. I may have known you for a week but honestly. I know a lot more things about you. Please don't be scared. I know you may never want to talk to me ever again but.."

"I will believe everything you say. I trust you with my life." He relaxed a little. "But please, I'm freaking out. Tell me what this is all about. Where are you going to take me? Who wants to hurt me?"

He squeezed both my hands and brought them to his lips. I could feel him shaking slightly. And when I looked up into his eyes, I saw fear. Raw fear.

"I'm not human. Neither are you. In fact, were both half demon."
