Black leggings and white vest top; that is what I have chosen to be my workout attire. I'm past the point of caring to be honest, whatever is comfortable, will float my boat. Hair tied up high, out of the way, the butterflies in my stomach suddenly turn into tornadoes as I fully understand what is going on.
I'm being trained because someone, my own uncle, wants to kill me.
Its been two solid weeks and in that time, I'm almost as good as Jace, fitness wise. Jace says that I can take anyone on and not to mention my powers which will give me a head start anyway. Mum and Nate came back from London about a week ago too. They had been acting as if I was a bomb, about to explode any moment but I didn't see why they were walking on eggshells around me.
"The weathers gonna turn worse. A gentle breeze now but later on there will be much more violent gusts of wind so I hope your ready." Jace went on.
I sighed and followed Jace to wherever we were going. When we came to a stop, I was so engrossed into thinking about what this could lead to that I didn't even notice that Jace had stopped walking. Resulting in me walking slap bang nose-first into his iron like back.
I truly think I might have broken my nose.
"Uh, Sorry." I mumble, stepping back holding my nose.
The biggest park in the area and I'm guessing Jace is actually serious about training. Not that he would joke about considering the mood and mindset that he's currently in.
The wind has started lashing out at my naked ankles causing me to shiver every now and again. There's hardly anyone in the park and i'm guessing by the looks of it that the few people there are will disappear shortly.
"Come on, lets get started." Jace looks down at me affectionately and smiles an encouraging smile. I manage to muster one back. He's still looking down at me when I break away the gaze and grasp his hand in mine.
"Come on then, Boss. What did you drag me down here for if all you were going to do was stare at me?" I snicker and he rolls his eyes and lets out a shaky sigh. All he does is squeeze my hand in return.
**1 hour later**
I'm running around like a headless chicken whilst being chased by Jace.
In the past hour, I've stretched myself so much that I'm convinced I'm an actual spaghetti hoop. I have punched and kicked at the air around like a mad woman. And I've just about managed to wrestle Jace to the ground, mimicking the style of a sumo wrestler. Now were both lying side by side on the green grass in the middle of bloody nowhere.
All I can hear is the howl of the wind alongside the panting of mine and Jace's breath. I am also convinced that Jace can hear my heart wanting to break free of my body. I steal a glance at him and catch him staring. Ha! Jace suddenly gets up from his lying position and sits in a legs crossed position. He cracks his fingers and twists his body so he is facing me.
But before he can speak, I decide to ask him a question.
"Jace.. why did you bring me here all of a sudden?"
"Thats the thing, we have so much less time than I thought we did."
His gaze breaks away.
"Riley.." He takes my hand and looks straight into my eyes. "They are here."
And them three words leave me absolutely dumbstruck.
