The Role-Playing Game
We pass each other
like strangers on the street.
All the emotion that has gathered,
yet we can't even speak.
You, with your poshness,
rich background, and high classiness.
Having been chasing me,
who's been chassing you, utter ridiculousness.
Your family, my family,
We're from the so-called "wrong side of the tracks'
You trying to hide that meaningless gold ring,
and her, looking down on me,
Funny, how she doesn't know the true facts.
Such as you loving me, and I loving you.
But ain't worth it, in your fancy family's view. She's blinging that gold ring, clueless to the truth.
How would your betrothed react,
knowing she can never claim your heart.
You, who can only yearn for me,
and I, that can only long from afar.
I can never stop chasing the stranger,
that has become you,
You can never stop chasing my voice whispering your name.
It seems we'll always be chasing each other,
in this lifetime theatrical role-playing game.
