Four Weeks Later
I am in my room, Lucy and Susan are helping me into my dress. The sleeves are lace that crawls up my arms and covers from my upper chest to my lower neck. The sleeves go down and loop around my middle fingers. Around the waist is a silk ribbon that ties in the back into a bow. The silk skirt has vine embroidery in a lighter white thread that starts at the waist and goes down to the hem. My veil has the same embroidery on the veil material. The tiara that holds the veil is silver and diamond studded, the front holds the face veil and the back holds another veil that falls to my waist, just above the bow.
Lucy and Susan are now curling my hair which is a big task since my hair falls down to my waist.
"Finished!" Susan sighs.
"Thank you, it looks wonderful!" I tell her.
"Good, because I worked super hard on it," Lucy tells me.
We smile and I place the veil on my head. Susan and Lucy help me adjust it until it is perfect.
"You look so beautiful! I can't wait for you to officially be our sister!" Lucy says excitedly. "Aren't you Susan?"
"Oh absolutely! Tell us how Peter proposed to you!" Susan says, she and Lucy look on intently.
"Well..."I start, but there is no point in me retelling this to you because you were there and if you wish to be re-told you can always flip back a few pages and read it again without all of my fantastic details and embellishments.
The girls sit at my feet as I tell them about the most wonderful moment of my life, up until today at least. As I finish, a knock is heard at the door.
"Who is it?" I ask.
"Caspian. Are you ready yet?" Caspian asks through the door.
"Almost, I need to put my shoes on then I'll be right out!" I call to him.
"Peter is looking like he's about to pass out so you better hurry," he tells me with a laugh.
"Well, just hold on a second, I'm almost ready!" I yell.
Lucy comes over with my ruby and diamond studded sandals and slides them on my feet and fastens them. Susan grabs my bouquet of red, white and yellow roses and hands it to me. I go out the door, Caspian is standing outside waiting for me.
"Hold on!" Susan calls, she rushes out to me and flips my veil over my face. "There, now you can go."
"You look absolutely beautiful Josephine," Caspian says in awe.
"Thank you," he takes my arm and we start to walk down the hallway to the garden of the castle.
We stop at the doors and Caspian opens them. Susan takes Edmunds arm and they walk down the aisle towards Peter. I stand out of the doorway, behind Caspian. My heart pounds, I clutch Caspians arm. I can not tell if I'm nervous or excited.
"Ready?" Caspian asks me.
I nod and step forward. Caspian leads me down slowly to Peter. I look up at him. He is in his finest clothes. His shirt is a rich blue that clings to his stomach and puffs at the sleeves and tightens after his elbows. His sword still hangs familiarly at his side. Peter smiles at me as I come towards him and he takes my hands as I stand in front of him and give my bouquet to Susan.
Aslan himself has stayed to perform our wedding. He looks on at us fondly.
"High King Peter," he booms, "You have come forth to us, wishing to wed Josephine, have you not?"
