Lily's POV
I stared wide-eyed at the man in front of me. Did he really just say what I thought he said?
He had a blank expression on his face. Had what he said really not affected him in anyway? I must have heard him wrong.
"Excuse me?" I was stunned.
"If you want to make it up to me, let me kiss you."
My mouth hit the floor. He did say what I thought he said.
"Look, I'm not interested in anything other than a kiss. Call me crazy, but it's something I've been wanting to do since I saw you Friday night."
His small confession stuns me. He's so rude to me though? How can he say he's wanted to do this since he saw me for the first time?
"I don't know what to say." Those are the only words I can let fall from my mouth.
"You don't have to say anything." He shrugs, leaning back into the sofa.
"I'm just surprised."
"As you should be." The cocky smirk that makes its way across his lips looks so good, but I feel a rush of blood come to my cheeks.
His reply angers me. Does he always know he's getting under my skin?
"I wouldn't kiss you even if it made up for it all." I say sassily.
"And why's that?" I watch as his head cocks to the side. The brown hair on top of his head moves slightly, curls moving about.
"Because you've been nothing but rude to me since you've met me. Do you honestly believe I would let a man, who's treated me so horribly, kiss me?" I let out a small laugh- amused by the situation.
"It was worth a shot... Guess I'll just have to walk you out then." He shrugs his shoulders, as if my rejection towards him meant nothing.
I was appalled. He didn't even care. He simply knew he was getting under my skin and I couldn't stand it.
"I'll be leaving then." I say curtly, standing up from my position on the couch.
"You're leaving? You just got here!" He says confused. He doesn't move, just tenses slightly in his chest.
"I came to apologize. It's not like we were planning on hanging out." I turned away from him and took a step forward.
"I'd like to hang out with you." He mumbles quietly, but I hear him.
"What did you say?" I say shocked.
"Nothing. Just leave." He snaps. I flinch at the sound of his booming voice.
"O-okay." My voice comes out as a whimper and I'm scared at my lack of confidence. It's like all of my fierceness had escaped me.
I made my way towards the door, not even trying to take a glance back. I needed to get out of here before I said anything more. It seemed like every word out of my mouth bothered him, and he scared me.
"Wait!" His voice sounds kinder- more apologetic than anything.
My head whipped around, surprised at the sound of his bare feet hitting the floor behind me.
