It was Tuesday and Fredrick wasn't eating his porridge. Maybe he figured out we were secretly giving him his medication through it. Well it's not his fault he has to have it, it's not like he knows he has Lornofocus. We were going to tell him, but how would he react if we told him his horn might come off? We decided we would secretly give him his medicine untill it was time to have his surgery. I mean, what was a unicorn without it's horn?
He's not the first, there's been a huge outbreak of Lornofocus in unicorns lately, and our population is rapidly decressing. It's a common birth defect that creates a tumor in a unicorn's horn which later turns cancerous. The only cure the scientists have found for it so far is to remove their horn after several weeks of going on specialy formulated pills which we secretly mashed up and put in Fredrick's food. My poor baby brother, why'd it have to happen to him?
When I think about it, it could really happen to anyone. You don't notice anything and the doctors can't trace it until you've already had it for a year or so. I don't think I have it ,but you can never be sure. Sometimes I feel like me and Freddie are such outcasts, especially since the rest of our family are human; that means my dad, mom, and 16 year old sister Julie. With her tall, thin figure and long black hair she looks nothing like me. She has sparking hazel eyes just like Freddie, even though we're not related, which is cool. I just feel like I stand out so much.
Okay, you're probably totally lost right now, let me explain. I'm writing this right now as a time capsule for someone to find later, much later. I want other people to know about us, unicorns, but of course if they knew what I was doing they'd probably kill me. Thats why I'm waiting till I'm probably dead for someone to find this. Unless 2012 kills us first. You see unicorns have been thriving for thousands of years, you can even see us in pictures with the aztects (hence the 2012 belief). Unfortuantlley government officials burned all the photos and only let a select few know about us. Now why, do you ask, that no one can know? Well in our horns is a condensed magical power, that, if unleased can unleash greatness but also all the demons locked up inside us. Thats because our horns contain the portal to heaven and the underworld.
There are good things about our horns, though. Things that make them more priceless. When we're in danger the angles can release themselves and save us. They have even been known to grant wishes. They're kind of like a saftey net who's always there for us, untill we eventually die. You see that if this got into the wrong hands the owner could either release the demons on earth or use the angles to grant all their wishes. So it's a win win for them, but it really sucks for us.
Thats also why the scientists have to be so careful when they cut off our horns that they don't release this magical power. If someone can capture it or get our horn before the sugeons destroy it our world and whole race are doomed. Since we can't let that happen we're probably all going to die from the wide spreading disease. So now you see why I'm writing this, so our memory can still live on.
"Lylia it's time for dinner!" Julie shouted.
"Okay, be there in a sec!" She replied. She quickly trotted out of her stable into the wide kitchen where a large bowl of some sort of green stew was waiting for her. She turned to see her brother Fredrick (nicknamed Freddie) looking hesitantley at his bowl. Lylia bent her neck over the table and slurped the strange stew while Freddie began, spilling it all over himself, he even managed to get some on his horn. Julie laughed, helped him clean it up and started eating with her spoon with Mom and Dad.
They may of not known it, but that was the last normal dinner they would have together.

FantasyThis is my time capsule diary. It's the story of me, my family, and all the trouble that comes with it. Sure that wasn't an interesting description, but trust me, the actual story is a lot better.
