( Nalah in the media )
- Nalah
"Where have you been?" Jai asks as soon as I step one foot in the door. I sigh and closes the door.
"A friend's house."
"What friend?" She bites into her apple. I stop and frown.
"Why? You so nosey, man." I walk to my bedroom and undress. I need a hot shower.
I grab a towel and head for the bathroom. Tajailyn is sitting on the toilet with the seat cover down.
"Jai, can I take a shower?"
"Go ahead. We're both women here, we have the same assets. It ain't like I haven't seen you naked before anyway."
I roll my eyes and wait for hwr to leave. She doesn't move. She continues eating her apple.
"I was with this girl I met a while ago. We just talked all night and stuff. Nothing serious."
Jai gets up and smiles. "That's all you had to say. I thought you were with that trifling ex of yours."
I ain't say nothing. The less she knows, the better. Jai is my best friend and I know she only wants the best for me, but she acts like my mother sometimes. I wish she'd back off.
I hop in the shower and relax my mind. The hot water and steam filled the bathroom making me fall into a deep soothing trance.
I rubbed my body as I thought about the events that happened just hours before now. With Aubrey.
It's been years since I've made her body shake and she's made mine tremble. Her tongue worked like magic and I loved it. She's a real freak and so intelligent. A real work of art. She just doesn't know what she wants and that's why we broke up.
"Nalah?" Tajailyn's voice snatches me out of my thoughts. I open my eyes and peek out of the shower.
She's dressed in black from head to toe. She looks wavey, that was nothing new.
"How do I look?" She gives me a twirl. I smirk.
"Like you're ready to break hearts." I wink. She giggles and puts her shades on.
"Good. That's the look I was going for."
She walks out and I finish my shower. I don't have to work today and I don't have class on Fridays so I guess it was a chill day for me.
I'm probably going to check out a museum or go take pictures of the neighborhood. That's what I normally do. Photography is like my "thing."
Everyone has their own "thing." Some people paint, some people draw, and sone people make a living out of making things. Pottery. Sewing. Taking pictures and attaching meaning to it is what I'm about.
I get dressed and sits down on the love sofa. I don't really feel like watching tv so I'll just read.
I pick up one of my many books and start to read. About a chapter or two in, my phone rings. It's Aubrey calling. I'm kinda nervous to answer so I stare for a few seconds.
Then I finally answer.
"Aubrey?"
"Hey, can we meet up? I need to talk to you."
My heart flutters. My stomach knots up. My heart becomes a loud drum.
"Sure."
And it is that easy. Aubrey has me right in her grasp... once again.
