*Georgie's POV*
My mind was made up. I needed to stop Logan, it would take some work but I was hellbent on stopping him. I just needed to find Darryn, he surely would help me. Right? Was he mad at me, or was he just off doing whatever it is that Darryn does? I don't even know that much about Darryn, why was I wanting this marriage thing to go through? Any reasonable girl wouldn't want to go through with it, but I believed there was something about Darryn that made me feel different. I just needed to find him, explain to him what was happening, and hope that he would help. I walked to the front door and opened it when I heard a whiny voice on the other side, not a bitchy whiny voice but more of a child's voice.
"But Grandma! You never want me to stay here, so why should I stay here now?! I don't understand..." It was a young boys voice. "Because Corvin, you need to stay with your mother right now. I believe that you should move back in with her. You never see her and it breaks my heart to hear my own daughter crying over the phone telling me how much she misses you. Now I am sorry, but you need to do this. For the sake of your family, you will do this." The wise and tender voice of a woman had a very moving speech about why this boy should stay here...
Mrs. Scott has another son? I thought Darryn was her only son... They never mentioned this Corvin boy...
I was so confused and I didn't understand what was going on, and that was when the doorbell rang. Startled I backed away from the door but I decided to open it. Opening the door revealed a boy probably around thirteen years old and an elderly couple maybe in their 60s...but I wasn't sure because I was never good with determining older people's ages. The woman looked at me and snorted, "My, my... My daughter let's the maids wear whatever the please. Hmmph, the least she could do is put them in attractive clothing." I was baffled, I never took offense to what people said, it was just the way she said it to me. I took a step back and looked at her.
"I'm sorry ma'am but I am no maid. My name is --"
"Sorry my dear but I simply do not care. You are obviously just one of my grandson Darryn's girls. He must have more then just you here. Now take me to my daughter, Laura. Now! Chop, chop!" The woman rushed into the house and pushed me to the side, my jaw dropped at the rudeness of this woman. I didn't care if she was Mrs. Scott's mother, rudeness was one of the things I hate in people. Just before I said something to her Mrs. Scott came into the room. Staying on the other side of the room she greeted this woman, "Ma, it is so nice to see you again."
"The same to you daughter. Now I must talk to you about Corvin staying here. I do believe it is the right thing to do, but these girls that Darryn brings here must stop if darling little Corvin is to stay here." She reached to pat the boy, Corvin's face. He physically moved away from her, and shuffled closer to me. "Are you staying here?" He whispered to me, I nodded my head.
"Yeah I am. And before you say something I'm not some girl who is here to hook up with Darryn." I whispered back, and he stifled a laugh. "I know that, Darryn called me like yesterday morning and told me about the marriage, and my grandma doesn't know anything about the marriage, so I'm sorry about the way she is treating you. I'm sorry you have to get married to my brute of a brother." Now it was my turn to stifle a laugh, but I didn't succeed and we both broke into laughter. That was when the old hag looked at us with a look that could kill someone.
"Young woman please remove your things from this house at once and go back to the street corner where Darryn found you." Okay! That was it! I was done with this woman, and before Mrs. Scott could say anything I was slowly making my way towards this woman.
"I'm sorry but I am NO prostitute or hooker. I come from a very prestigious family from the Untied States and I will not stand for some old witch implying I am a prostitute. I am Georgianna Fuller, the daughter of Braden and Valaree Fuller. And if you wish to get rid of me then you will extremely upset because I am going no where any time soon. So get over it grandma! Put your big girl panties on, because I am here to stay." And with that I left her standing there, like a deer in headlights. I walked to the door and turned around, "And now I must go find Darryn, we can't have him running off if I'm to be married to him." Walking out the door, I heard a shriek come from inside and the footsteps coming up quickly behind me. I turned and saw Corvin.
"That was brave. My grandma can be a real troublemaker so don't be surprised if you catch her meddling or going through your things. She thinks lowly of Darryn, but the world of me. Darryn hit a rough spot when my grandma decided it was best for her to raise me. He was never the same, and that's why he's such a troublemaker for ma. And I didn't say sorry because I'm messing with my brother, I am truly sorry." We continued to walk towards a treeline, maybe I would find the creek Darryn told me about and maybe he would be there. "Sorry? What's so bad about Darryn? I mean sure he can be a pain but he doesn't seem that bad." I heard Corvin huff and I knew there was more to what he was saying.
"Darryn has one of the worst tempers. He has gotten into trouble with the police before." I was shocked, "Why? What happened?" Was all I could say.
"Darryn almost killed a guy. Darryn dated this girl and was in love with her, until he found out that she cheated on him. He went to her house and saw them making out on the couch. He was furious, and started wailing punch after punch on him. He almost killed this guy." I gasped and stopped walking, was Darryn really that bad?
"How do you know all this?" Corvin stopped walking and looked at me.
"I was in the car outside. He left the door open, and when I heard screams I ran up the porch. I was the one who called the police. I was 10 at the time, and that was the last time that my grandma let me stay with my mother. I'm not sure why all of a sudden she is letting me stay here, when she doesn't trust Darryn at all. That's why when he comes to visit he isn't aloud to leave the house unless our butler, Paul, goes with him." I was surprised to say the least, and I was even more shocked when I heard a voice behind me.
"So now you know my past, at least the really bad part. So the question is, do you still want to marry me knowing that I have a major anger issue?" I turned to see Darryn, who had somehow snuck up behind us. I felt a tear hit my cheek and I didn't know why I was crying. But I ran up to Darryn and buried my face in his chest. Then I pulled back and hit his chest saying, "You jerk! I was worried about you!" I pulled his head down to mine and looked him in the eyes.
"So what's your answer Georgie? Yes or no?"
"Yes. I will still marry you." That was all I had to say and then he kissed me. Which was something I didn't expect but I kissed him back. Our relationship seemed to going in the right direction but I was still worried about Logan. I pulled back and looked at the ground, "We have a problem. My brother... He's trying to stop the wedding."
