"Elsa! Elsa! Wake up, you've got to get ready!" Anna jumped on top of me.

"Ouch! Anna, get off!" I pushed her off and lay back down to sleep.

"Come on you'll be late!" She screamed.

It was my first day of school. So what? It's not that big of a deal. And anyways Anna isn't even going until next year!

"Ugh, FINE! What time is it anyway?" I asked shielding my eyes as she threw open the curtains.

She turned around nervously,"Errrm...hehe.....5:30?" She timidly smiled, fiddling with her night dress.

"ANNA!" I yelled. "Why why why why why????" I fell onto my bed face down.

"Come on it's exciting. And I have to help you prepare your outfit. You have to make a good impression and ....." She rambled on. I just 'mhmm'ed as she listed lots of things she thought I needed to do. For a ten year old she knows a lot about 'first impressions'.

"Alright just wake me up at nine, I'm going back to sleep." I half pushed her out my door and sighed as I locked it. Hopping back into bed I closed my eyes trying to sleep but I was starting to get too excited and slightly nervous as I thought about school. I got my letter a few months ago and have been preparing ever since. I've always wanted to go to Hogwarts, and now that I'm finally eleven I can go! A few weeks ago mum and dad took me on a special trip to Diagon Ally specially to get school supplies. I got so close in convincing dad to buy a Nimbus 2000, but mum had to come and flourish the letter in front of him. Mum also almost forgot my Dragon hide gloves.

What if she didn't actually get them?

I mentally screamed at the thought. I quickly raced out of bed and went over to the corner of my room where all my things were neartly packed in my trunk. I grabbed my letter and started checking things off the list.

Uniform
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)  Check!
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear   Check!
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)   Check!
4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)   Check!

I continued through my list until I got to my pet. My cat Amycus had escaped his cage and was probably wandering around the Manor.

"Curse you Amycus." I sighed as I slipped into my morning robe and looked out my window to see if he had disappeared into the grounds. The view from my room in the Arandelle Manor is breathtaking, especially when the sun comes over the mountains in the early morning. I looked left, to the rose gardens and right, to the water feature. He wasn't anywhere! I was about to give up when I spotted him bounding across the wide lawn towards the neighbours garden.

"Merlins beard!" I whispered running to the door. I quickly unlock it and run down the hallway, skidding around a corner and BAM into someone.

"Ah, Elsa dear you're awake." My father helped me up from the floor.

"Yes, I was just on my way to catch Amycus, he escaped, again." I said hurriedly. I needed all the time I still have before I need to get ready to catch him. I do love him but he gets on my nerves.

"I won't hold you up then." he smiled.

I smiled back and ran to the stairs, slid down them and raced out the front door. Trying to remember where I last saw him, I ran across the damp lawn making my toes refreshingly cool. I reached the border of our property and slowed to a silent walk. I stopped looked around and uh huh, there he was sitting in the maple tree, licking himself happily. I snuck to the bottom and started to climb. Climbing this tree was like second nature to me, having spent all my childhood hiding from my parents in it. Almost there, I had my hand out to grab him when stone flew right past my head, making Amycus run for his freaking life.

"MERLINS SAGGY LEFT-" I yelled only to be interuppted.

"Woah, calm down." a voice drawled from the bottom of the tree.

I swiftly climbed halfway down and jumped to the grass.

"DRACO YOU JUST LOST ME ANOTHER 4 HOURS - MHHHMMMHHMHHM!" He clamped his hand over my mouth.

"And good morning to you too." he smirked dropping his hand.

"Sorry, Amycus is just so hard to catch." I sighed flopping onto the grass.

"I know, but I couldn't resist, it was such a prefect opportunity." he chuckled, to which I playfully punched my best friend in the shoulder. We had been best friends and neighbours for as long as I could remember.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll help you catch him. You nervous about today?" he asked.

"Not really, just a bit worried about ... you know." I cast my eyes down, nervously fiddling with the end of my hair.

"Hey," he told me," you'll be fine, you just have to be yourself. Who cares what the others are going to say. Besides we've got each other, okay?" he pulled me into a hug.

"Thanks Draco." I wiped away the tears I didn't know had fallen. We stood up and started to look for Amycus. Just for fun I made the grass under his feet turn to ice, so when he took another step he fell flat on his back. I doubled over with laughter.

"Oh no you didn't!" He got up and started for me. I ran, still giggling, around the garden. He chased me until we got to the broomstick shed and I snuck inside. I just slipped into my hiding spot as he ran through the open door.

"I'm coming to get you El." He called as he searched in the cupboards and shelves. He started to look annoyed and worried, but I was trying to hold back fits of laughter. Suddenly something soft brushed my leg, I looked to see Amycus purring loudly. I tried to shoo him away with my foot but he purred and meowed louder.

"Shhh Amycus, you're going to get us caught." I whisper yelled.

"UH HUH!" Draco open the cupboard I was in,"Found you - and Amycus." He yelled. "Come on, you have to get ready we probably have to go soon."

"Okay, I'm coming." I grabbed Amycus before he could run away again and hopped down.

We walked and talked our way back to the garden borders, before saying goodbye.

"See you on the train." I smiled and waved as we went back to our houses.
