The next morning I wake up and decide that I'm not going to call Isaac. I'm not cheap. I'm not desperate. I will not be the girl that stalked him. I head to the barber to start my shift, or at least prepare to start my shift. The place only opens in fifteen minutes. I set up my station and then head to the window to put up the "open" sign and then I see him.
What the hell.
Why am I excited?
I open the glass doors. And Isaac looks up from the floor that he's sitting on.
"Hey." He says with a flirty smile.
I start blushing. God, I blush so quickly. And I'm not even pale!
"Hi," I say with a pathetic attempt at hiding my excitement, "Here for another spontaneous hair-do?"
"Yes. I want it black this time."
His hair is the darkest shade of brown I have ever seen. Why would he want it to be even darker? What's the point?
"Okay. Head on in."
Isaac sits in the chair and I complete his request, which hardly looks any different from his natural look.
"I like it," he says "It's very...me."
We both laugh at the fact that he looks no different than before. The only difference is that there were still a few streaks of orange from his last hair color.
"Okay," I say between giggles, "Just because this was barely anything. I'll charge you $4.00."
He hands over a five dollar note.
"When do you go on your break?" He asks.
"In about two hours. Why? You planning on going blonde?"
"Actually," he says smiling, "I don't think that a girl like you should be left to have her lunch alone."
"Oh," I say in a flirty tone, "A girl like me?"
"Yes. A girl like you. You know I still don't know your name, miss girl like you."
"It's Dylan."
"Dylan, huh. I like that name. So, Dylan. What do you say? Need a little company during your lunch break?"
"Yes," I reply. My blush must have become neon by now, "I'd really like that."
"Perfect. I'll wait for you."
"You can't possibly wait two hours just watching me cut people's hair."
"Why not? I waited one hour last week. What's another hour?"
"Okay fine. Well there's magazines in the corner. You can keep yourself occupied."Fate, you listening? Today, I officially forgive you.
