Once upon a time, a sick little girl named (name) was born. Everything about her was frail. Doctors said she wouldn't live through the first month. Her mother mourned for her daughter who wasn't even in the ground yet, but her father was determined to save the life of his offspring. He was the lead scientist in a top secret human improvement project and he'd do just about anything to keep her alive. Without the knowledge of his daughters doctors or her mother, he injected her with a series of serums from his experiments. Soon the small girl began to show remarkable improvement, living through the first five years of her life as a normal child. He continued to give her the injections. And soon realized the effects that they had on her. His daughter could lift nearly fifty times her own weight, run further and faster than he himself (a fairly fit man) could. Her eyes could see further, she could hear sharper, and her sense of smell could rival a blood hound. She learned quickly as well. His daughter had become the perfect human that he'd been working so hard in his lab to create. But one day, a beautiful day like any other, men from her fathers lab came and took her away. For months they experimented on her, then years... then decades. After the age of five, the girls aging process slowed remarkably. They injected different strands of the original serum into her, took her blood to the point of passing out, forced her to fight other experiments... but no matter how long the girl was kept in that lab and used as a guinea pig, she always remembered her parents. And wondered to herself, why had they let those men take her away from them.
"... thank you (name)," Princess Bubblegum said, looking a bit uneasy. Her eyes shifted away from yours as she wrote down something on a nearby note pad. After clearing her throat she met your eyes again, "If you'd like to leave, you can. But you're always welcome here in Candy Kingdom (name), you're safe here."
"As long as you don't try to impale me with a sword again," you said with a sarcastic tone and stood to leave. You paused though when you reached the door, "Finn doesn't need to know about the length of my life span."
"You're going to have to tell him eventually," Bubblegum retorted, "it'll be pretty obvious when he's old and grey and you still look like a teenager."
"I know," you said with a sigh, "but just, let me enjoy this time with him for now. When the time comes, I'll tell him myself."
Finn was waiting outside of the room you were in earlier, leaning against the wall waiting patiently for you. When he heard your soft footsteps his eyes looked in your direction and a bright smile spread across his face. Stepping forward to meet you his hand linked with yours and he pressed a soft kiss onto your forehead.
"C'mon," He said with a soft smile, "let's go home."
The sky was cloudy and dark on the way back to the tree house. The wind was a bit chilly and the smell of rain that threatened to fall filled the air. You couldn't see the treehouse yet, but knew it wasn't too far away. Soon enough though a few rain drops started to fall. A small smile spread onto your lips because you'd always liked the rain, it held fun memories of puddles and splashing. But it didn't take long at all for the soft drizzle to turn into a full on down pour.
"Well isn't this the most beautiful weather?" You said with a partial laugh. Letting go of Finns hand you ran ahead and twirled around. The wet mud softened grass squished beneath your feet as you grinned and stretched your hands upwards towards the sky. Leaning your head back you let the rain wash over your face and down your body. Its been forever since you've felt rain.
"(Name)?" Finn said with a questioning tone as he came closer. You hummed slightly then glanced towards him with a small smile. The way his dampening hair clung to his features and the doe like appearance of his big blue eyes made your heart beat fast. When he was within arms reach, you turned to face him.
"Finn?" You said back to him in the same curious tone, taking a step closer so you were nearly chest to chest. A warm smile was held on your lips. He looked at you with a light blush across his cheeks. Although he was taller than you Finn seemed so young, in personality mostly. (Because let's face it, childlike was not the right word to describe his body at all.)
"Can, can I kiss you again?" He asked with a noticable bit of hesitance. Your smile widened as you gazed into those sparkling blue orbs of his.
"Technically," you said, wrapping your arms up around his neck, "I'm the one that kissed you."
"I guess that's true,"
Finns strong arms crept around your waist, pulling you against his chest. He leaned in slowly, making it feel as though time was slowed. The warmth of his lips against yours made your lids slide shut with bliss. His mouth moved slowly with yours leaving you with a hunger for him to be rougher. When he pulled away a dreamy hum drifted past your lips. You were both left just a tad breathless with blushes across your faces.
"Finn,"
You'd barely got his name out before his lips crashed against yours again. His hands gripped you slightly tighter, and he moved with more confidence. Sliding your arms up around his neck you leaned into him, intensifying the moment. Almost cautiously he worked his way into your mouth with his tongue, making it playfully wrestle with your own. His hands began to gently move up and down your back, the feel of his large warm hands caused an excited shiver to roll up your body.
"(Name)," He said with shallow breaths when your lips left his. "Do you wanna get married?"
It felt like you couldn't breathe for a long moment. The way his brilliant blue eyes bore into yours made you feel as though you couldn't even think, let alone speak.
"I-I mean, being married to someone means that you're gonna be together forever r-right?" He continued, tripping over his words just a bit. After looking away from you to gather his thoughts for a moment he met your eyes again, resting his forehead against yours and hugging you tight, "You make me feel weird (Name), not weird weird but weird in a good way you know? The first night we slept in the same bed together and you snuggled up to me, my body felt like it was burning, and you just looked so tiny. I-"
Your heart was pounding in your chest, you were sure he could feel it.
"I love your smile, and your laugh, I even think the way you snore at night is cute." He added with a smile, "When you look at me my mind goes all stupid, and my heart feels like it's gonna burst."
As if to add emphasis to his words he removed one of his hands from your waist to hold one of your hands to his chest. At the feel of his fast beating heart beneath your palm a bright new blush came to your features.
"I wanna get married so I can spend forever making you blush and laugh and smile and hear you snore while you sleep." Finn said and pressed a kiss to your nose, "I just wanna spend my forever making you happy and smacking hams to keep you safe, so (Name), will you marry me?"
Happy tears rolled down your cheeks as you stood on tip toe to capture his lips with yours over and over and over again. Wrapping your arms around his neck (due to some force and sheer clumsiness) the two of you fell over, you landing on top of him.
"Yes Finn!" You managed to say before kissing him again, "I would love to marry you!"
When you pressed your lips to his again you hummed contently into his mouth. Your fingers tangled themselves into his long blonde locks while is strong fingers pressed into your lower back. As his mouth moved against yours you practically melted into his embrace. Slowly but surely his hands moved up your torso, lightly dragging along your sides, making you quiver against him. Finn looked into your eyes, appearing a bit surprised at the reaction such a simple movement had received. Before his hands could roam any further you heard loud barking coming closer. Just as you could see Jake coming into view you and Finn were both wrapped up in his yellow/orange fur, being pulled in different directions.
"WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT STAYING AWAY FROM TIER 15?!" Jake boomed at Finn. You giggled in his other paw, not even really surprised by this weird ability of his on top of everything else.
"What's tier 15?" You asked with a laugh.
"I don't know!" Finn answered as Jake continued to loudly lecture him. You smiled at the arguing pair as Jake held you in his grasp. This was your new family, a stretchy yellow/orange talking dog, and his human brother, your fiancée.
"You look incredible (Name)," Bubblegum said with a smile as she took a couple steps away from you. Your eyes shifted down to the white rhinestone encrusted floral bodice of your gown, then the poofy princess style bottom. Turning to face the mirror your hands moved to cover your mouth, your face burning slightly. It was absolutely lovely. You looked like an actual princess. The vine like silver crown on top of your head which held your veil in place only added to it.
"I-I don't know how to thank you PB." You said and stepped closer to the mirror, half doubting that it was actually you.
"It's your wedding day, it was my job to make everything perfect, you don't have to thank me." She said and inspected the dress. Due to your lack of female friends Bubblegum had volunteered herself to be your maid of honor. Although you still weren't quiet over her running you through with a sword, you had to admit that she'd surpassed your expectations. She sent invitations to everyone in Ooo (even if you didn't know many of them), turned the yard outside the treehouse into the perfect wedding hall, handled all the preparations, handled the making of the dress.
"Hey Bonnie," Marcelines voice came from the doorway. She was dressed in a bridesmaids gown that matched Bubblegums, and her brother Marshall Lee was floating next to her, examining you. "They need you down on the main floor, there's an issue with the cake."
"Dang glommit what is it this time?!" Bubblegum fumed as she pushed passed Marceline and Marshall Lee.
"She takes herself way too seriously," Marshall Lee laughed and floated into the room once Marceline had followed Bubblegum downstairs.
"I kind of agree," you said with a sigh as you turned back towards the mirror and messed with a few stray hairs, "I should be more up tight about this than her considering its MY wedding but surprisingly I'm not."
You were lying through your teeth of course. Knots were forming in your stomach from how nervous you felt.
"Sure I can't have a taste before you and Finn tie the knot?" Marshall teased as he hovered on his back next to you, his tie loose and the jacket of his tux dishiveled.
"I'm pretty sure my blood would taste weird cause of all those experiments that were run on me." You answered and started make weird faces in the mirror.
"For all you know it could taste better because of it." He said and flipped over so he was floating on his stomach.
"Well I guess you'll never know."
Marshall Lee hung out with you for a while, talking and making jokes. Surprisingly you felt yourself relax the longer you talked with him. Maybe that was why he'd stayed in the first place. When Jake came knocking on the door, telling you that it was time, your heart nearly jumped out of your chest. As Marshall floated towards the door, said a quick thank you to him.
"No problem (nickname)," he responded with a soft smirk and a nod.
"You ready?" Jake asked with a smile as he led you towards outside where the ceremony would be held.
"Y-yeah," you weakly replied with a nervous nod. You could hear the music playing outside, and you knew that everyone would be looking towards you.
"Don't worry," Jake reassured you, "every thing's gonna be fine, I won't let you trip or anything."
"Thanks Jake," you whispered back as you started to walk arm and arm with him down the makeshift aisle. There were a lot more people here than you had anticipated. Fear nearly made you freeze up, but when you looked up towards the alter where your soon to be husband stood you knew you could do this. Finns eyes locked with yours as he gave you a smile of complete adoration. The closer you got to him the more your heart fluttered and the more everything else melted away. Your ears were deaf until heard Finn utter two small words.
"I Do."
"And do you, (Name) take Finn the human to be your lawfully wedded husband till death do you part?" The candy preacher asked.
"I Do." You answered, feeling like your heart was about to burst from happiness.
"By the power vested in me by the Land of Ooo and princess Bubblegum, I now pronounce you man and wife," he said, "you may now kiss the bride."
His lips came closer to yours in a way that made you feel like you were in slow motion. Just as you were about to kiss something sharp flew down your arm, leaving a shallow cut. Finns eyes darted upwards to the now dark cloud covered sky. Yours went downwards to see a knife sticking into the ground.
"Quick!" You heard Bubblegums voice yell, "Everyone inside! Its a knife storm!"
No sooner then her words were out of her mouth did everyone run towards the treehouse. Your eyes shot up to Finn as he swept you up into his arms, his eyes filled with determination and worry. Although he was trying his best to rush and push through the people he couldn't avoid the blade that came hurling down and stuck into his shoulder blade.
"Finn!" You shouted with a horrified expression. Before you had barely gotten a grasp on what was happening another knife stuck into Finn, then another, and another, and another. Within mere seconds more than half a dozen knives were embedded in the back of your husband. Just as you got to the doorway he collapsed, you still in his arms. The blood from his wounds was trickling down onto your wedding dress, the bright red contrasting horrificly with the white.
"A-are you ok-kay?" He managed to choke out as blood dripped from his mouth. Your eyes widened, tears streaking your face as your body trembled beneath him. You didn't move, or rather you couldn't, partially for fear of hurting him further and partially because you were too stunned too.
"I love you (name)," he smiled. You could the screams of candy people bundled with the hurried footsteps and shrieks of others.
"F-finn,"
That's when Finns eyes drifted shut and panic took hold of you.
"No finn!" You screamed, as tears came faster. "please, I'm not gonna let you die!"
