A/N: Poems I wrote while I was watching a dance show at camp. I had a burst of inspiration and scribbled all over the program!

Program Poetry

So small

Scrunched

Between neat lines and rows

Loud scribbles

****

Begin

Fanning with paper programs

Stifling night air

Crumpled words

Paper letters

I can’t breathe

Patient smiles

Waiting for the show to begin

****

Lifespan of a Program

What happens to the programs?

Crumpled

Torn

They are dying birds

Fallen from the sky

Littering the grass

Their words forgotten already

****

Speak Please

Back to back faces

Glowing in moonlight

Dance for eternity

Empty faces

Void of love

Compassion

Even anger

Their bodies fall like dominoes

Limp and lifeless

Why don’t they speak?
