I feel someone start to pick me up, well, more like drag, which made me wince. I'm dragged behind the fountain, which gives us something related to a shield. I look up and see none other than William, with fear, and worry in his grey stormy eyes. "No no no, Oh my God Darious" He chants over and over. He starts to put pressure on the wound, making me wince once again, and grind my teeth together from the pain.
"Sorry, I'm sorry but, can you slow your heart beat for me?" He asks desperately. I nod, and give a little thumbs up, and dropping my hand after ward on the cold hard cement. I feel the blood trickling down my waist, from where the wound is. William starts to take of his shirt, which leaves him in a undershirt. He starts to put pressure with his shirt on the gun shot wound. And I actually really liked that shirt, but it doesn't matter at the moment, I mean, I might die.
I start to take deep breaths, and exhaling through my nose. I understood why William wanted me to do this. The faster your heart beat is, the faster blood circulates around your body, which means, more and more blood starts seeping through the wound. And the point is that we have to prevent me from dying because I might bleed out. He starts to put more pressure, which makes silent tears go down towards my ear.
The stinging pain is unbearable, my eyelids are half way closed, I know I have to stay awake. I blink a few times, and start taking deep breaths again. "Good, your doing good Darious, keep it up" William says, panic clear in his voice. Another shot is heard, nearly hitting us, but It grazes the fountain instead. When the shot was heard, William uses himself as a barrier for me. "Just a little longer, help is on the way Darious, hang in there."
"And don't you die on me okay? Y-you have family right? You can't leave them behind, not like this. You need to grow old, and have a family" He says , taking shallow breaths. All I do is nod, I'm too weak to respond. His shirt got soaked with my blood, but he still keeps it there. He takes off his undershirt, exposing his glory. He uses his other shirt to clean around my mouth, and the silent tears that were going down.
My eyelids start to wander halfway on my eye again, and this time, I really want to close them. "Darious, stay awake please, please, don't fall asleep." William says, and cups my face in his hands. He starts cursing some not so bright words. He lets go of me for a brief moment, and cautiously cranes his neck, and dips his hand in the fountain water, then all of a sudden, flicks his fingers on my face, in resulting of me waking up again.
"Good, good, I'm going to do something OK? It might hurt you a little" he says. I nod, telling him I got the message, when he takes off the shirt that was on my wound, and rips it, so the cloth can be running the long way. I look at my wound, and see a very dark red splotch, that makes me want to throw up. I start to look away, and want my mind to focus on something else, when all of a sudden, William puts an arm on the back of my waist, and lifts me up a little.
I start to scream, and wince, cause it hurts so much. William puts the long way of his shirt, and starts wrapping it around my waist over and over. It covers the wound, so it doesn't bleed as much. This whole situation might of felt like forever, but was only mere minutes. William curses and apologizes over and over. I start to take uneven breaths. I feel very weak at the moment.
William starts to pick me up from my waist, and puts another arm under my knees, while he's still crouching, he states "I'm going to do something risky". Before I have time to even realize what his words meant, he takes a dash towards the trees, and it starts to look a little darker, since all the leaves are blocking out the light. No shots were fired, and what he did was pretty smart, he took us deeper in to the trees and bushes, giving us an advantage, since the sniper can't really see, since its so dark, and many trees in the way.
William takes his phone out of his pocket, taking deep breaths while calling the emergency number. The bleeding had stopped since there was so much pressure, but it still hurt like hell. The bullet went right through me. I start to lay on my side, not where the wound was. I start to cough up the blood, if I tried to talk, all you would hear is gurgling. I could hear William frantically telling the police what had happened, stating his name, and saying that I was injured. He hung up, and came right towards me.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" he kept on saying over and over again. "It hurts" was all I said in a weak voice. "I know, I know it does" was all he said before you could hear the sirens. I could hear people yelling, looking for us until William yelled them over. There was many, many police and people with guns and bullet vests and such. Someone came in with a stretcher, in which I sighed in relief.
William, and the paramedic gently placed me on it, the paramedic immediately starting to do what he was good at doing when they had put on it. They started rushing me towards the ambulance truck, William right by my side. They placed me inside, William joining me. The truck started moving, and the paramedic would start asking William questions of how this happened, and the angle and other stuff I didn't know since I was in my own world.
I started to let my eyelids close, only hearing the faint sound of their conversation, knowing I can finally sleep now, I let the darkness consume me.
