i've finally gathered the courage to run away from my fathers estate. my 'father', jude, abused me for the reason that i did not want to become the person he was trying to shape me into. at the moment, i am on my way to an abandoned library. my best friend, levy, is accompanying me; considering she is the one that told me about the place. in my opinion, i cannot ask for a better friend. she is a small, little bundle of happiness; the only ray of sunshine in my life. she never fails to bring a smile on the broken face of mine.

"lu-chan" the tiny blunette begins to say as she opens the door looming over the both of them. to both of their surprise, the door gave way when a light touch was given by levy. they cautiously strolled inside, curious as their eyes roamed over the books adorning the walls; which were beautifully illuminated by the moonlight. it had seemed like hours before her voice rose and spoke once more, "what kind of magic do you want to learn?". she eventually finds and flicks on a light that unveils the library in all its glory. dusty, was the first thought to pop into my head once i saw cobwebs and dust covering possibly everything in sight.

one of my desires was to learn the art of magic. it was once said that the people chosen with the ability were granted with any and every spell they could learn. of course, to get this ability, you'd have to have a substance running through your veins, only naturally obtainable through birth. (though it had been known that you could inject the substance into yourself, which could result in death due to the body rejecting it).

there was originally just one kid with the name of natsu that had magic traveling through his small body. he learned his specialty, fire magic, at the young age of 11 (him and i are the same age). he is currently now at the age of 12 and enjoys to boast his magic. this attitude was carried on until another orphan joined the sad orphanage, and i soon knew he possessed the magic of ice. his name was gray. natsu and gray almost instantly became best friends due to their similar ability of magic. it's hard to remember much after that, my mind too occupied with the never ending thoughts if i was like them; if i was magical, too.

"lu-chan", levy said, shattering my scattered thoughts. "come here, there's books that apparently contain spells that can make you conjure magic through the stuff running around in you. almost like a mage. considering the fact you're not a holder-type mage", spoke the blue-haired girl. she led me through the abandoned library that we have just recently entered. we eventually reached bookshelf that didn't look any different from the others. my eyes scanned the books until one specific book caught my eye. i quickly grabbed it and blew off the dust, coughing in the process. 'light magic' the faded text read. it was only after a few minutes i realized the language was something i haven't encountered. despite that, my mind effortlessly translated the text. "levy!" i started, shouting quietly, "i think i found it!". she pulled her gaze from the book, worn from years of use. she raised her head at me and grinned. "good!" she spoke, shutting the book. "we should head back to the orphanage now," she reminded me, "i think they're looking for us". not soon after, we walked out the library, similar to the way we entered, and headed back to the orphanage.
