Chapter 16

Panic rushed through my body as I waited for a response from Liam, "Liam?"

"Wow... I don't know what we are going to do about that. I need to think about it, I'll call you tomorrow." He hung up the phone right after, leaving me alone in the hallway of the hotel.

I eventually got off the ground and dragged myself to bed again, the night was spent tossing and turning while getting little sleep. All I can do is wait for the call from him.

I picked up my phone to see I have a text from Liam: Sorry for the phone call, I was surprised by the news, I love you Bailey. xx

I responded quickly after, I don't know what I did to deserve him, I feel awful about the whole situation. He is honestly the most amazing guy in the world.

Once my mom got up, we went down to get breakfast before going to get ready to meet the coaches. I barely even touched my food, I'm so nervous for today, it's been a long time since I've been this nervous to be around people.

I got into soccer shorts and one of my soccer shirts, I packed a bag with the essentials: my cleats, shin guards, a water bottle, and my ball. "Are you 100% sure you have everything?" My mom asks one last time before leaving the hotel room. I nod my head yes, I hope I have everything I need, I'm so nervous I wouldn't put it past myself.

It's a 20 minute walk to the college from the hotel, I want to curl up into a ball right now, the only thing that is keeping me going in my mom, she's the reason I can be here today, which I am grateful for.

My phone started to ring, I pulled it out to see that it was Liam calling. "Hello?"

"Hey Bailey, sorry about last night, I feel really bad."

"You shouldn't feel bad, it was my fault. I can't really talk long, we are almost to BC."

"Oh right, good luck you'll do amazing, you are one of the best players," I can tell he's smiling right now, even though I can't see his face.

"I'm so nervous, what if I mess up in front of the coaches, I really want them to like me."

"I know babe, I believe in you, I should probably tell you this secret now, maybe it will help you today," of course he wants to tell me a secret today out of any day. "You're one of the best players I've seen, I would say that you are better than Louis, but don't tell him that I said that," he laughed at the end, but I could tell the seriousness in his voice.

"Thanks Liam, I have to go now, we are almost to the fields, I'll call you afterwards, unless you are going to be busy."

"I don't have anything planned for today so I'll be waiting for your call, I love you."

"I love you too Liam," I said before hanging up the phone and putting it back in my backpack before getting to the field and seeing the coaches waiting.

"Hello Miss. Carson, I'm Coach Smith, I heard you met Coach Bennett yesterday."

"Yeah we met yesterday when I was practicing and you can just call me Bailey," I said with a smile, I feel less nervous, both of the coaches are super nice.

"Okay, Bailey, why don't you get your gear on and we can start the evaluation," Coach Bennett said pointing to the bench on the side of the field. I nod my head taking off my backpack to put everything on.

The evaluation actually went really well, both coaches were impressed with my skills and said I would play a great center forward, since there's just graduated last year. It really is an honor, they think I'm good enough to be the one to score the goals, it's a huge compliment. I still have to go to tryouts at the end of the summer, but they think I have a better chance getting the position than any of the other girls they've seen. They were also surprised that I play so well after having the car crash, they said I was born a natural.

Right after I packed up I called Liam to tell him the good news, he picked up on the second ring, "Hey Bailey how did it go?"

"It was amazing they think I have the best chance of being center forwards, I'm so excited for tryouts in August," I can't stop smiling as I pull my backpack on my shoulder.

"That's great, I would love to go with you to it, maybe you and Louis will have to have a one on one game now," he said laughing into the speaker.

We talked the entire way home before he had to go since he was meeting up with the other boys again today, he told me numerous times that he was really excited that I was coming home tomorrow and that he would be at the airport waiting for us. I can't wait to be in his arms again.

I'm finally updating, I've been with my sister and my step-brother since I haven't seen them in forever. I go back to school again for the first time in like 10 days because of the blizzard, so I don't know how much I will be able to update this week. Don't forget to vote and comment!
