Dragon Rider - UNDERGOING EDITS

Chapter One

Hiccup POV
I'm breathless and filled with fear and hatred. My own father just denounced me as his son. Just because I trained a dragon. And didn't tell him about the dragon nest. After my former dad leaves, I run out of the house, barely holding my tears. I'm going to the cove.
Once I do reach the cove, I scream.

Astrid POV
I run out of the arena to see Toothless. He's chained up. His startling green eyes that resembles Hiccup's eyes beg for help. I casually ask another Viking what's going to happen to him. "Oh, the beast is going to be our compass to the Dragon Nest! Isn't it exciting, Astrid?" he asks. I nod, half looking at him and at Toothless, who then looks a little petrified and yet relaxed. He knows what's going to happen to him. I thank the Viking and run to Hiccup's house.
Hiccup is having a huge argument with his dad. I can hear them from the open back door. "You're not my son," growls Stoick, and Hiccup looks crestfallen. After his father goes out and announces that the Berkians will leave at dawn, he runs out of the house. I can tell he's holding tears. I follow him all the way to where Hiccup had Toothless, the cove. Hiccup screams.

Hiccup POV
   I see Astrid at the entrance of the cove. She knows I saw her. She looks downcast as she walks down towards me. "How much did you hear?" I ask. "All of it," was the sheepish answer. I realize she thinks I blame her for eavesdropping, and I say,"I don't mind if you heard any of it." Astrid relaxes. After a couple of seconds of silence, Astrid speaks up. "Toothless asked for help." I look up. She continues. "He's chained up, and they're going to use him as a-" "Compass to the nest," I finish. Astrid nods.
   I'm really worried. Toothless is pretty much kissing Valhalla right now. I need to save him.
   I have an idea.

Astrid POV
   Hiccup is making his idea face. "What's the plan, Dragon Rider?" I ask. "Can you steal keys?" he asks. I think I know the plan. "No, but I can break locks easy with my axe," I reply. "Good," smiles Hiccup. "Meet me at midnight."
   "Agreed."

Toothless POV
   I'm waiting for Hiccup.
   I know Astrid went to tell Hiccup what's going to happen to me.
   Right now, I need Hiccup.
   I feel Death.
   I am invincible.
   But I need help.
   I need Hiccup.

Hiccup POV
   I run down toward the docks stealthily. Astrid is hot on my back. I turn, silently asking her which ship my best friend is on. Astrid points to the closest ship. "That one." I motion for her to stay close, and I take off for Toothless.
   I'm going to save my best friend.
   And leave my true love.

Toothless POV
   I groggily wake up.
   Someone is shaking me.
   I wake up to see my hunter and my saviour.
   Hiccup.
   Astrid is behind him, holding her axe.
   I trust her, and I know she won't kill Hiccup.
   Hiccup nods.
   Astrid breaks my bonds.
   I stay quiet.
   I know I have to.
   Then we fly quickly to the cove.
   Hiccup looks sad but determined.
   I know that look.
   I've seen it more than once.
   Hiccup needs to run.

Astrid POV
   I am so relieved that Toothless doesn't open his wings and roar. If he did, our cover would have blown, and we would be caught. It would ruin Hiccup more, earn Toothless a free trip to Valhalla, and ruin my reputation. So I'm relieved.
I jump onto Toothless with Hiccup. We fly all the way to the cove quickly but silently. At the cove, Hiccup taps me. "Astrid, I need to tell you something urgent."
   I see the urgency and say,"You can tell me anything you need to!"
   Hiccup looks flustered, then went to being depressed. "You see, I have to... Have to..."
   He breaks down into tears, and I comfort him and he finishes the sentence.
   "I...have to...Leave."

I know a lot of people wanted for me to update HTTYD: Watching the Second Movie, but I had this story on my mind since a long time ago and I had to release it to the public.
This is an What If story and is closely integrated with Bridged Worlds series.
