Chapter 8. Crowded
Ruby's POV
I was waiting at the room for Marley, early of course. I fiddled with the buttons on my red trench coat, it was considerably cold out.
Trying to calm my nerves was proving impossible! I was contemplating kissing her tonight, but would that be to soon? Definitely not for me!
I can't chicken out, I have to at least attempt to make her see she has me going crazy! I smiled to myself.
She's so sweet, but doesn't seem to like people knowing that. However she's different with me, well that's what Rosy suggested when I was texting her.
At that thought my phone went off. Speak of the devil!
Rosy:
Excited for your hot date? ;)
Oh gosh even when she's not here I get embarrassment.
Me:
Shut up! It's not a date, I'm just showing her around :) and yes.
Rosy:
Your so cute when your in love :) let me know if you get lucky! Haha xx
My heart fluttered when I read 'in love', I sure don't know about that, but with Marley the thought didn't scare me.
Me:
You are so inappropriate! :) xx
I shook my head smiling and closed my phone, looking up to see Marley jogging towards me.
'Calm down Ruby' I thought breathing in.
"Hey, sorry there was some speech and I had no way of sneaking out" she said quickly, puffing a little. So cute!
"That's okay, shall we?" I asked and we began to walk.
Walking her to my favorite place the conversation flowed easily.
I didn't ask her personal things, not wanting to have this feel like a session. But we kept each other laughing, I'd never felt so comfortable around someone before.
When we arrived at the entrance to the little bush walk, I turned to her clearing my throat.
"It can be hard following the path at night so stay close" I said holding out my hand for her to take, hoping she didn't see it shaking!
She smiled and placed hers in mine waiting for me to lead.
Success!
-----------------------------------
There wasn't much talking navigating through the bush, this I was thankful for considering I was still in shock from holding her hand!
As we came through the clearing in the trees I heard her gasp.
I turned thinking she'd hurt herself but found her still, mouth slightly open.
"Wow" Was all she said, I giggled as she looked at the view.
We were standing near the edge of a cliff face, I doubt many people figured out it was here.
It looks over the valley with a river running through, lit up by the moon.
"Amazing isn't it?" I smiled at her, realizing she hadn't let go of my hand yet. Not that I'm complaining!
"It's Beautiful" she beamed.
You are, I thought to myself.
she led us a little closer to the edge and sat down. My heart sank as her hand fell out of mine.
