CHAPTER 4
We talk for hours and hours telling each other everything about what happened in our childhood all the way up till Friday (yesterday) and then there is nothing else to tell we fall into deep silence but it isn’t that awkward silence but the kind that you don’t have to talk to know what the other person is thinking.
“Would you like if I tried to find that man who tried to kidnap you?” He asked out of nowhere. He is sitting on my bed with one leg bent on it and the other hanging off the bed swinging slightly. His hair hangs slightly in his face and was like red flames where the light of the candles fell on it.
“That would be nice but I wouldn’t have any way to repay you from helping, you would get nothing in payment, I’m sorry--” I got cut off by a big bang that came from down stairs. “What was that?!” My voice was very shaky with fear.
“I don’t know but I will go check. You stay up here and do not leave this room. Ok? And I will be back as soon as I can.” Then he got up and rushed out the room, closed the door and locked it so that he knew that I couldn’t get out and because he doesn’t want me to get in any trouble or get hurt, which makes me feel warm and fuzzy to know that someone cares about what happens to me. What is going on down stairs? What is going to happen to Ashton is he hurt? Breathe, in out in out…. Click the big door that is opening and Ashton runs in and locks the door behind him. His face was all red like when you run for a long time and really fast, “They….are…..trying….to….get you.” He said between gasps of air trying to slow down his breathing. “We...have to…get you….out of…here.” He continued.
“Slow down and breathe. Breathe in then out, in, out. Ok start from the beginning and tell me everything all the way up to where you ran in here and locked the door behind you.” I say trying to concentrate on my breathing also so that I don’t start to freak out
After a couple of minutes of taking deep breaths he started to tell me what happened “So when I left the room I went down the to the stairs and saw at least a couple dozen men just like the one that I knocked out so that I could bring you here so you wouldn’t get hurt more than you are. Then they saw me and started to come after me so I had to run as fast and hard as I could to get away from them they are fast but I had a head start and took them on a wild goose chase all over the house and got them so mixed up that they had to slow down and take thing on where to go next.” He laughed “and since I got rid of them I decided to come and check on you.”
“Is that blood?!” was all I could say. Not. ‘Thank you for thinking of me’ or ‘you’re so brave’ all I could think about was the blood that was on his shirt sleeve.
“Oh I didn’t even notice that I was bleeding all I could think about was you and if you were ok. Are you ok?” he asks
“Yes!” I say as I rush towards him. “Why wouldn’t I be?” I ask.
“I only asked because you look really pale like you might faint or something. Are you sure that you are ok?” he asked while moving closer to me so that if I did faint or started to fall he could catch me.
“Ye--” But before I can finish my knees give way and I start to fall.
