Charlotte's POV

Before anything else, let me first tell you where it all started...

(start of dramatic sound effect)

It was when prince charming threw a pebble on my window and sang to me through the glass window, and when I heard his voice I hurriedly open and jumped out of my window. He caught me just in the nick of time and we...

(end of dramatic sound effect)

Oh, who am I kidding! My story was not that romantic. Not romantic at all. No horses, no cheesy poems, no pebbles, no prince charming, and definitely no rainbows.

It's still five-thirty in the morning and I am already awake. Don't get me wrong, I'm neither excited nor happy; it's just that I can't sleep properly. I guess it is because today is my first day in the university!

I decided not to go back to sleep anymore, then I headed to the bathroom to freshen up myself. After almost an hour inside the bathroom - yeah, it takes some time to be beautiful - I feel more human. First, I went inside my closet and picked a white sleeveless loose top paired with a black jeans and a white cotton-made jacket. Next, after putting on some matching bracelets, I let my wavy blonde loose. "Sweetheart, are you done yet? You'll be late for class!" My nanny knocked on my door yelling.

My parents are living in France and they left me to live with my nanny, and I am certainly not complaining since we have the whole penthouse to ourselves.

Sometimes I wish my parents could just choose to migrate back here in the states. They could do business here, and at the same time I get to have some quality time with them.

"Almost..." I chuckled.

I opened the door and come eye-to-eye contact to a happy-face nanny. "Good morning sweetheart!"

"Good morning." I smiled back.

"Sweetheart, your mom called..." I quickly interrupted her and asked. "Did they mention when they are coming back?"

She tried to smile but failed. "They won't be back until February, next year. I'm sorry, sweetheart."

My smile instantly dropped. "What do you mean next year?" They swore they'll be here in time for my birthday, and once again, they have broken their promise.
