Charlotte's POV

I'm starting to prepare myself for the ball later. I'm fucking cool that I'm going alone!

First, I started putting on just a little of face powder and red lipstick. I love it when I don't wear too much make-up, it makes my face look more naturally beautiful. Next, I pinned gracefully all of my hair to one side and let it curl all the way down my shoulder to my chest. Then I unzipped my satin dress, and put on slowly my Versace gown. Lastly, I slid into a pair of red Louboutin heels. I took a glance at my full-length mirror, and dare do I say, I look hot!

I check the time and I got thirty-minutes before the ball starts. I went inside my closet to grab my gold YSL clutch. I made sure that I have put all the things I need for tonight inside my clutch before leaving. I have my driver to drive me to the ball. Inside the car I put on my beautiful golden butterfly mask and made sure it's perfectly worn.

This is it...make the most out of it.

I entered the hotel and was taken to the ballroom where the masquerade ball is taking place. Already the place was full of people, most in which I don't even know. As soon as I stepped inside, eyes instantly turned to me. I froze for a second and swallowed the lump on my throat. I'm such a nerve wreck! Chin up, Charlotte, I thought to myself. I gracefully walked down the staircase and ignored the eyes that were staring at me. The room was set up with almost 100 tables, each with fine white silk table cloth.

Everyone was absolutely breathtaking and very mysterious, I couldn't even tell where is Dee right now with so many people in mask. I decided to not bother her tonight and let her have fun. I walked over to the bar area and got myself a glass of martini.

Suddenly, an arm snaked around my waist and I jolted up just to lock eye contact with a tall masked man. He chuckled and moved his hand to remove his mask. I realized that the owner of the arm belonged to Rafael Gregory. He was the first guy to have asked to me to be his date. "Your face looks like you've seen a ghost." He laughed.

I looked away, still not talking to him. "Wanna dance?" He said and tightened his hold on me.

I turned to face him and glared at him. "Not in the mood for dancing...sorry."

"You look familiar...have we met before?" He said and rubbed his jaw with his index finger and thumb.

I panicked though he looked a little stupid not to notice me in this mask. He shouldn't know who I am, because he knew that I'm not supposed to be here.

"I can't seem to remember, but who cares...want to go somewhere quieter?" He whispered against my ear, and his hand slowly rubbing my thigh. My breath quickened though I really loathe this kind of disrespect, especially when he doesn't know who he is touching.

"Sure, if you don't mind sucking blood instead of cum." I gave him a fake smile and slapped his hand away from my thigh. Perverted prick thinks I belong to him.

He raised an eyebrow before bursting into laughter. "I guess I'll let you go tonight...next time, it won't be that easy."

"If there will be a next time." I murmured and drink my martini.

"That was cool of you." A deep voice appeared behind me and I almost spilled my drink.

"What the hell?" I turned around and I felt my face flush as I locked eyes with this beautiful man, his electrifying hazel brown eyes, tousled dark hair which gave him that sexy bedhead look, his angular jaw and his muscular physique.
