There we were, standing in an open hallway. Hand in hand. Not caring if other people saw, which they did. Logan and I were happy together, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Jason and I - Just as friends - started hanging out a lot more. He turned out to be straight, and was happy that I was happy. I could have a boyfriend, and a bestfriend. It all could work.

It was in the middle of the second quarter, and teachers were starting exam prep. So of course my roommates and I were preparing for our Spanish exam.

"James, don't forget the accent! It's cepillo. Double l, so it sounds like an i." Said Carlos, after James had pronounced cepillo "cepilo". Carlos shook his head, and chuckled. "Try some other words. If you're lucky, you won't get daily routines for your oral exam."

James was really trying, but his forgetful tendencies were coming into play here. "Oh...okay." He muttered. He picked up the flashcards and started going over them again.

"Logan, what are you doing?" I asked, turning to see Logan on his phone.

"I'm just- uh-"

"Not studying?" Asked Carlos.

Logan set down his phone on the counter, saying, "I don't need to study. I get a C just by winging it."

James rolled his eyes. "Some people actually have to work for a C."

"No James, you're not get a C." Carlos said, kissing him on the cheek. "And neither are you, Logan." Carlos snatched Logan's phone, and put it in his pocket.

Logan shouted, "Oh, no kiss for me?!" Jokingly. Laughter erupted, and Logan looked at Carlos knowingly.

"Kendall can give you a kiss." Said Carlos, pointing to me. I scoffed, and shrugged.

"Do it!" Said James. Logan blushed and shook his head. Everybody was officially distracted.

So I did it. I walked over to Logan, and kissed him on the lips for half a second. My other roommates laughed and clapped, smiling stupidly. "Can we get back to work now?" I asked, blushing. "I'm not trying to fail here."

Exam week came pretty fast. Faster than I wanted it to come. I don't know if I was ready for it or not, but I had to be. My history exam was first. I sat at my desk, tapping my pencil on my paper. I didn't have the slightest clue of what the current question was asking. Sweat built up on my eyebrow, as if I already knew that my work was going to be C+. And I had promised my parents I'd get straight A's.

A few minutes later, the sound of the PA system coming on erupted in the classroom, saying, "Attention all students, visitors and staff. This is a code blue. Please close all doors, windows, and restrict all water and bathroom uses until further notice. Stay tuned for more updates."

Everyone broke out in whispers. "Okay people, quiet down. We're only 30 minutes into the test. Focus on getting it done." Said my history teacher, Mr. Bradly.

I looked down at my test booklet, guessing on the question that I was on. I finally reached the first BCR writing portion, and I actually knew what it was saying. I was just about to write my first sentence when-

"Attention all students, visitors and staff. The code blue has now advanced into a code red, also known as lock down. Please collect all exam booklets, and do not let anyone out of your sight, and begin to proceed to the necessary lock down rooms."

Mr. Bradly quickly collected all test booklets, and led us all down the hall to our designed lock down room. Somebody had told me that ours was underground, and couldn't be opened or locked without a key.
