A Queen
Paige had neglected to tell Jordan that the prom was also being held that night for two separate reasons.
First, she was a bit worried that he might ask to be her date which would be inconvenient because she was going as a girl date with Indie. She couldn't drop out of that. She also didn't want to take any of the attention away from Bonnie. It was her special night.
Second, she hated to admit that she was feeling awfully cowardly about it. She fancied the idea of spending more time with Jordan but she didn't want to jinx it. Going to prom together was more than the average hangout. Everyone she knew would be there and she wasn't ready to let him blend just yet.
So the basic fact was that she was being a selfless sister and a stupid wimp.
It didn't matter that she was in conflict with herself because once Bonnie was dressed, she was sure that it would be worth it. They had come home after the game, which their team had won. Mary Sue had been there but her dad was busy. Bonnie was in the perfect mood to go have an amazing senior prom.
Bonnie's dress was evanescent. It was a gold sheer fabric with a cut out back. The edges were rimmed with silver embroidered roses. The torso of the dress had a deep plunging "V" neck that accentuated her bust. The dress was fitted, until below her hips, where it spread out in beautiful full gathers. The ends of the dress trailed four feet behind her. She looked like a queen. Her silky blond hair was pinned up elegantly and Paige had applied light makeup into her face. She looked so perfect that Paige was jealous.
"I gasp in the presence of your thunderous beauty, your Highness", Paige's sardonic tone announced. "Long live the Queen!"
Bonnie grinned from ear to ear. Her ego was going to be the size of a mountain by the end of the night. She deserved it. Paige wasn't sure how Dean would manage to keep his hands to himself. He would just have to, because if he brought them anywhere near Bonnie's body, Wes would chop them off.
"Come on. Let's go downstairs", Paige said as she smoothed her dress out. It was an halter neck nude dress with chiffon layering at the ends. It stopped above her knees and had clean cut outs.
She led Bonnie out of their room and down the stairs where everyone was waiting.
Mary Sue let out a loud gasp when Bonnie came cascading down the stairs. She really did look like a true queen. A lot of photos were taken before Bonnie's date finally arrived with a 'ding' of the doorbell. Paige went to answer it.
She had never seen Dean before so she wasn't sure if this was him. If it was, then she had to give her sister a medal later for her spectacular taste. Six feet tall with broad shoulders, Dean looked like something out of a male underwear magazine.
"Come in", Paige said in a low voice. He stepped into the house with a charming white corsage that would go perfectly with Bonnie's sleek dress in his right hand. His other hand was tucked idly into the pocket of his black tux. He followed Paige into the living room. Paige turned around to find him stuck in the doorway.
His eyes bulged out of their sockets when they were laid on Bonnie, who was smiling so much that she'd need surgery to stitch her cheeks back to normal.
