I laid on my back in the soft grass, my breathing even. The sun was warm on my face, contrasting with the cold, wintry-like wind that whipped across my tanned skin. I didn't think it could have been so cold, with it being summer and all. My eyes were closed and I was silently praying they would leave me home, where i belong.

That was the day my life was twisted upside down. I remember that oddly cool, summers day, as if it were yesterday. I had been laying in the grass in my small backyard, thinking. I refused to think about how i was being forced to leave my friends in a few short minutes. I was wondering what we were having for lunch when I heard my mother call my name from inside our quaint house. I slowly got to my feet, trying to savour these last few moments before my day turned sour. Here we go. i groaned in my head. I drug my bare feet up the porch steps and entered the house.

"There you are honey. Get your belongings and meet us in the car. We leave in five minutes." my mother ordered in a slightly annoyed tone. I took the steps two at a time up to my room and grabbed my purse. I threw my Ipod, cell phone, gum, and wallet into my blue checkered purse and hurried down the stairs. I strolled into the kitchen and slipped the remaining Dr. Pepper into my purse as well and dashed to the front door. I walked outside to find that my family was already waiting in our shiny, silver range rover, waiting for me. I hopped into the backseat and slammed the car door. My mother turned around and glared at me and i just shrugged.

We finally got to our destination after the excruciatingly tense, eight hour drive with my mother, father, and two brothers. I stepped out of the car and almost fell to the ground. The long car ride made both of my legs tingly and jelly-like. I watched as my older brothers got out with ease. Stupid brothers. I suppressed the sudden urge to stick out my tongue at them. I turned around and looked up at the mansion of a house. There i was at Aunt Emily's house.
