The next morning my aunt made us waffles for breakfast. I had just shoved an enormous piece of waffle into my mouth when I heard a "Good Morning". I turned around in my seat to come face to chest with Daniel. He must have been talking to me because he was looking at me with an amused look on his face. I opened my mouth slightly, but then realized I still had food in it so I quickly closed it. Instead, I waved at hand at him, as if to say hello. He sat down in the chair directly across from me and stared at me like I was a science project. He continued to stare at me throughout the rest of breakfast. When I finally couldn't take it anymore, I washed my plate and stomped up the stairs to my room. I flopped down on my bed and wished I had friends at my new house. I hated that my dad had gotten a promotion and we had to move eight hours away from home. I longed to be home, watching a movie in my best friend, Morgan's, arms. She had been my best friend since kindergarten all the way up to Junior year, when I moved.
I had decided to go out that night, so I found my silver sequined shirt and black leggings. I stood in front of my full length mirror and admired myself. I was okay-looking, with an athletic body from playing volleyball almost all my life. My long, blonde hair flowed down to my midsection. I stared into my blue-gray eyes and wished, with all my might, that I had Morgan next to me, telling me how beautiful I was. The move had definatly taken a small hit on my self-confidence. I spun around and looked for my purse in a hurry. I looked everywhere I could think of it being and then I remembered that I left it in Daniel's room. Shoot. I really didn't want to have to go back in there. I tip-toed to his room and lightly knocked on his bedroom door. I waited there for a few seconds, drumming my fingers against my hips, where my hands were planted. I was just about to forget it and come back later when he opened the door. My mouth dropped because he was half-naked, and man, was he hot.
"What do you want?" He sounded annoyed.
"I, um, want my. uh. purse." I finally managed to get the words out of my mouth. He turned back into his room and came back, holding my purse.
"Thank you." I said, in a polite way.
"Yeah okay". I was really starting to think that this guy had had no pleasant, human reactions prior to this. i started to walk away but felt a hand pulling on my wrist.
"Where are you going?" His voice was so beautiful, it took me a few seconds to reply.
"Out".
"Where?". He sounded genuinely interested this time.
"Well, if you must know, I am going dancing". I honestly did not know why he needed to know this information. It wasn't like i was going to invite him to go with me.
"Would you mind if i came with you?". Of course he would ask.
"Um, sure. hurry up, I'm leaving in five minutes".
This is going to be an interesting night..
