1. What is your sexual orientation? I'm bisexual.

2. When did you "come out" and who to? What was their reaction? I never intended to "come out" to anyone, but about two months ago, my very, very, very homophobic parents came across some of my poems and stories that made it obvious I wasn't straight. This resulted in them basically kicking me out, and I'm currently living with my amazing best friend and his family.

3. Do you get bullied, physically or verbally, because of your sexual orientation? Yep. I dance, and when I moved in with my friend and came out to everyone else, the girls at my dance studio decided it would be fun to make my life a living hell. The one time I stood up to them and told them to "fuck off" resulted in a black eye and two broken ribs. Not fun.

4. Have you ever gotten angry/hate messages about your sexual orientation? Yes. The week that I came out, I had at least 500 texts telling me that I was going to "go to hell," that I "should just kill myself," and that I was "a freak of nature." I still get texts sometimes, but, for the most part, I've managed to block all the numbers.

5. Have you ever been told to "repent to god"? How did you react? No, I haven't.

6. N/A (This question was optional so the person chose not to answer.)

7. What are your words to others going through the same thing? It sucks. It sucks a lot. I hate the fact that I haven't talked to my parents in two months, and I hate the fact that I have to live in fear of the people who bully me. But, at the end of the day, they're the ones who, ten years down the line, are going to be regarded as ignorant. I know who I am, and I'm okay with it. And that's all that matters.
