A minute, then a week, then two weeks passed. Trying to find the courage to make a move was nowhere to be found. He obviously seemed uninterested in "romantic acts"; holding hands was always out of the question. Even after confessing to him, the two of you were still tense. His views towards love were very different from yours.
It was a little after when the volleyball team got out of practice. The sky was still a little blue after the sunset a few minutes ago. Cautiously waiting outside the gym doors, you faintly heard the Captain telling everyone it was okay to go home. Footsteps rumbled as two boys, one short with orange hair, and another with black hair and a stern expression, bursted out the doors first.
"YAHOO!" the orange-haired boy yelled running off to the front of the school.
"DUMBASS YOU GOT A HEAD START!"
The two ran off screaming at the top of their lungs. You kept yourself somewhat hidden from sight as more people slowly exited the gym.
After a few minutes of waiting, he finally walked out. The tall, blonde, and glasses-clad boy that you had a raging crush on. Tagging closely behind him is what seemed to be his close friend. He had dark brown hair with visible freckles.
"I have to pick something up in the school, so I'll catch up with you later Tsukki!" the freckled boy exclaimed before running back into the school.
You made your awkward approach to the boy called "Tsukki" who was occupied by his music. He swung around the corner and stopped at the vending machine. Readjusting his glasses while reading the options, you carefully planned out the conversation.
"Don't be awkward don't be awkward don't be awkward," you repeated those words to yourself several times.
Casually walking around the corner, you heard a "clunk". You were greeted by his bent over form. Of course being somewhat of a curious girl, your eyes automatically averted to his backside.
Being lost in your sudden suggestive thoughts, you zoned out. The tall blonde stood up and jabbed his straw in the juice box. He glanced down and noticed you staring in a certain place.
Reaching to his headphones and pulling one side behind his ear, he cleared his throat, "can I help you?"
Being startled, you coughed out a garble of words that made zero sense. Feeling your face heat up, you scrunched up your shoulders and looked away fast.
A smirk grew on his face instantly, "oh I know you. You're in my English class. I have no idea how you're surviving if all you can do is speak mumbled nonsense," his tone was flowing with sarcasm.
"H-hey!" you had no idea how to retort back.
Smirking again and laughing to himself a bit, he put his other headphone back on. Not even acknowledging your presence anymore, he simply strolled pass you.
Your face was heating up again and thank the lord he couldn't see you that time. Taking a few breaths to calm yourself down, your heart was still beating at the ribs.
That was the first time you talked to a crush on your own.
