Sometimes I'm up at 2 in the morning staring at my phone like, "Someone. Give me attention... Cuz this is the obvious socially acceptable hour for that." I may be alone on that... And that's ok.

Most of my thought energy of the day this chapter was started (1-30-2016) was used imagining the life of someone with no arms...... Curse all pull doors. You make life miserable. You are the reason there is so little love in this world. I also thought that there should be a way to open doors with your feet easier. Like maybe a special handle near the floor.

Ok so every now and then Things happen at my job that make me question individuals. So lets start this story.

So I have always had some part of me that believed that people don't steal. We just think they do. Shop lifting is a myth. Now obviously thats not true, and yeah I knew people stole things, I just thought it was really rare. Well apparently that's not how it works. I learned that when I started working retail. I also learn that people do it a lot. Another thing, in my work area if something happens in one side of the store you can almost be sure that with in 30 sec 80% of the staff already know due to our network of radios and gossip that they have going on there. So heres how it starts. My sister who works at the same store is helping a woman at a register. (Normally I would say lady but she doesn't deserve that respect.) This woman wanted to make a return with out a receipt. That normally isn't a problem we just give you in-store credit ... Unless you are returning several pairs (many plural) of 70$ shoes. So my sister needs to get the return approved by the manager. The manager comes over and states we cant return anything over a certain amount with out a receipt and that we can only take one back. After a short argument the woman leaves the line with out returning anything. Well our manager recognizes the woman as a shop lifter that steals from us often.... Actually anyone who's seen her twice could recognize her. Her ninja skills are at like a negative five. And if for some reason you want to make sure that she is the person you think she is, all you got to do is ask her if she needs help and she will say "Is there a problem?!" So our manager calls a black swan, mayday, apocalypse drill, what ever you want to call it and she and the other manager start to follow the woman around the store like wolfs. Harassing the woman and her friend who are stuffing merchandise in a lunch bag which they grabbed from our shelfs and in their skirts. Eventually the two drop most the merchandise and run. Meanwhile I'm walking around and I see an unattended cart with an open wallet (purse, pocket book) in the seat with some aluminum foil in it. I assumed that the foil was wrapped up food an old person packed in their wallet, and was like, "ew." I leave the cart alone cuz obviously someone is using it. Well a while goes by and I see my managers around the cart with the wallet and they are laughing..... Or something managers do. I was quick to back away from that .... Particular atmosphere. Some more time goes by and now our store gets a phone call for a missing wallet. Well the person who called was the same woman that was stealing earlier. She left her wallet. Like an idiot. Well we asked for a description of the wallet and what we got was, "It has money in it." Nahhhhh you don't say. After the call, my managers call our security guy and ask what he can do. Don't get me wrong, our security guy is a pretty cool guy.... But really HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT WE CAN DO!!! You don't know if you are certified to call the cops! What the heck! ... Now heres the real question. Why would you steel things from a store; to return to the same store; to get store credit; to buy stuff from the store........................ I'm sure there are answers to this, and i thought of a few and been told a few... But still a funny thing to think about. Also pro tip for any criminal, don't leave your wallet, with your driver's license. We know where you live 🙆🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻

The girl stood calmly. Her head towards the ground. The fire dead. The village; ashes. The stars coming out of hiding from fear of the blaze.
