The New Beginning

CHAPTER 4: Now

Hey guys so I theres a change in plans, This chapter is a "now" chapter, I'm going to be doing a couple more "now" chapters before I go back in time again. Thanx and happy reading. :)

CHAPTER 4: Now

TYLER:

I run up and down the isles grabbing chips, crackers, Drinks and and spreads that were still in date.

Alex is staring at me with those big green eyes of hers, Och there so distracting!

I cant help but to stare back at then, I could stare all day and never get bored but Oliver walks in and breaks the silence,

"So I was wondering If we're going far or not..." I was too distracted to hear the rest, My eyes are now wondering her body, Even in those loose cargo pants and a plain grey T-shirt, It shows her perfect curves and beautiful body, She looks down and blushes like she read my mind.. Or maybe she just saw my eyes wondering.

"So then are we all set? I ask, Looking at the things I gathered.

"No we just like to sit here and do nothing." Alex answers sarcastically.

I cant help but to smile.

"Okay then I'll be on my way, Obviously you like being bored." I say while shrugging.

"Wait! I wanna come!" Oliver shouts in surprise.

Alex gets up and walks to where Oliver and I are standing.

"Are we going or not?" She asks with a hint of annoyance.

How could she be annoyed at me I just asked if we we're going to leave, gosh I cant figure out this girl!

"Gosh no need to get moody." I whisper mostly to my self while walking for the exit.

She shoots me a look.

Oops, Guess she heard...

I start getting nervous as we walk out side but I can't let Alex see that.

I look around but all I see is a empty road, It's very quiet that's what makes me the most nervous.

I'm now in the middle of the street, In plain eye sight.

No zombies.

I feel instant relief and signal to Alex and Oliver It's safe to come out.

They half walk half run towards me.

"So are you going to tell me where we're going?" Alex asks persistently.

"No" I simply say.

She gives me a perplexed look. Obviously not expecting my answer.

I couldn't hold in my laughter, That face was priceless.

"Look, I don't need you here, I let you stay only because of Oliver." Alex says coldly. She sounded serious, I never thought she was serious about wanting me to leave, My heart felt a little weaker.

Great I wanted today to be special and fun and it's already starting off like crap.

I start walking down the street.

I don't look back to see if they're following me but I'm guessing they are by the sound of foot steps.

It's been the longest and quietest ten minutes of my life.

Oliver tried to break the silence a couple times but to no avail.

A whole half an hour of silence passed.

"When are we going to be there?" Oliver asked, To break to silence again, I must be pretty important to this kid because he wont give up on Alex and I being friends.

"The first part of our journey will be done in approximately ten minutes." I see the neighbourhood I'm searching for up ahead.

"The first half?" Alex questioned and I thought maybe she wasn't mad any more but I guess I thought too soon. "So there's more to this lovely day." She adds sarcastically,

I really don't want to fight with her so I stay silent.

We get to the entrance of the neighbourhood and stood in shock, Houses where torn, Blood on the streets and the worst of all the zombies, Their skin a sickening dark greenish purple, Their eyes bloodshot and dull, They all most look lifeless. Their faces painted with the same agonising look of pain. They walk limping like there bones are so weak they will disintegrate.

The scariest part of all is the zombies, They are people but not people who are dead, No they are still alive but they are infected with a incurable disease.

I look at the horror struck faces of Alex and Oliver, Alex quickly blocks Oliver's view with a hug.

I look at the street trying to compose a plain, I see a car parked in a drive way in the distance, If we can reach that then I can drive to where I wanted to go for the fun.

As I turn around to tell Alex my plan I see her tear streaked face, I instantly feel guilty for taking her here, Today was supposed to be fun.

She's always protecting Oliver but no-ones every protecting her.

She has now let go of Oliver whispering something in his ear, She touches her face and realises she's crying and quickly whips the tears away.

Alex goes and sits on a bench under a tree to try and steady herself.

I go to sit next to her and I give her a hug,She stiffen at my touch but she doesn't resist, She then raps her hands around me pulling me closer, Closing in the gap of our bodies. Alex bunches up the back of my shirt and squeezes it, I hear her crying in to my shoulder, I rub the small of her back in circles, When she finishes crying she rests her head on my shoulder, Holding me for support, She's been strong for too long and needed to let her pain out, I was just happy I was her support.

I let her rest her head for as long as she needed, I liked the feel of her touch, She pulls away but we're still inches apart, I softy touch her cheek with the back of my hand to wipe away her tears.

The words she says next seems to breaks my heart.

"Thank you" Her voice cracks as she whispers.

I know this wasn't too thrilling but I promise you next chapter will be full of fun, cute moments with Alex and Tyler and Some action with zombies!
