CHAPTER 2: Now

Chapter 2: now

ALEX

I wake up from the sun shining in from the stores sky lights which are conveniently above my head.

I groan and turn around, I forgot I was lying on a blanket and my hand touched the icy cold floor, I sat up in defeat,

There was no way I was going to get any more sleep here.

I bring my knees to my chest and put my hands in between my folded knees to warm them up. I groan again having to move out of the comfortable position to stretch my back that hurts from sleeping on the hard floor.

"Good Morning, sleepy head, What's with all the groaning? I would have thought you were a zombie." Tyler says with laughter in his voice.

I totally forgot he was here! Why do I keep doing that!

I blush and Turn around and There he is with a big smirk on his face.

"Och." I moan annoyed.

"What? Aren't you happy to see me?" He asks with a over exaggerated surprised tone.

"Wow, How did you guess?!" I say sarcastically.

His mouth formed half a smile on the left side of his face.

"I guess I just have a thing with the ladies." He say pulling his eyebrows up and down.

"You!? Have a thing with the ladies!? Yeah right!" I say in between fake laughs but we all know all the girls loved him.

"Your not attracted to me, Alexia"? He pouts and says it like hes offended.

I Hate when people use my full name and some how he knew that.

"Attracted to you?! You wish!" I try to say with disgust but his amused smile, His perfect hair and beautiful eyes It was harder than I expected.

"Are you sure?" He say quietly and walks up to me, We stand inches apart and I can feel his breath brush up against my face. I can hardly breathe and my heart rate accelerates tremendously, Standing so close to him makes him even more beautiful, I can now see the outlines of a six pack under his tight shirt. I think he can hear my heart beat because he smiles and whispers in my ear " How about now.?" He looks me in the eyes and grins in accomplishment. He knows what he does to me.

I need to look away before I look like a idiot.

"What's the time?" Is all I manage to ask

"Um" he looks at me confused and I take the chance to walk back a step, Then he checks his watch "Nine."

"NINE!" I shriek.

"What?" he looks at me obviously confused.

"It's Nine freaking O clock!! and your asking me what's the problem!" I say while rubbing my bridge of my nose. "We're wasting precious day light! We cant stay here forever! We have to build a shelter or find one, We have to find food, Water, Maybe a river to wash ourselves!"

I look at him and he's smiling, No he's laughing!

I have known this guy for less then twenty four hours and I'm so frustrated with him I just want to punch him and don't get me wrong I'm not a violent person, The only thing I'm violent with is zombies.

This guy has got to go!

"Why are you laughing!" I ask trying to contain my frustration but obviously failing.

He looks at me with a amused smile,

"It's the end of the world and you have a schedule?" He say on the verge of laughter, "Lighten up, Tell me what's going to happen if we stay here another night?"

I'm lost for words.

The truth is nothing will happen if we stay here another night.

"Exactly" He say in a mater-of-factly tone, "So we're going to have some fun."

All I can do is stand there.

Fun?

"Hey, What's all the screaming about?" Oliver say in a raspy tone.

I forgot Oliver was even here, Wow he looks older than I remember.

"Hey Oliver!" I walk over to where he's lying and giving him a big hug, He Immediately returns it and we just embrace each other.

"I missed you so much!" he whispers in my ear.

"I love you Ollie." I whisper back and let go.

We just smile at each other.

Oh how I missed that smile.

My little brothers back and there's no way I'm letting him out of my site again.

At the corner of my eye I see Tyler looking down, His smile gone, Like it never was there, I know that look, It's the look of pain, It's the look of loneliness, I know because when Oliver wasn't with me that's the only face I wore. He hides it so well, I know it sounds stupid but I forgot he had a family and a life, He's not with them so he was one of the lucky ones. I am not only a lucky one I have Oliver to so I'm the luckiest one.

I get up and help Oliver to his feet, This the first day we're together after four weeks and we're going to make it memorable, Maybe I'll take Tyler up on his offer, I don't know what what type of fun he has planned when it's a zombie apocalypse but what do I have to lose.

Except my life, Well, I wont dwell on it.

"Hey Tyler." I say, He looks at me straight away, Confused, Even sad, He wasn't expecting me to call him. "So what type of fun were you talking about?" I say smiling.

He smile the most genuine smile, My heart begins to race.

"Don't worry I'll show you." He answer Still smiling.

Man, This guy does weird things to me.

I guess he can stay one more day.

The next chapter will be a little bit more of Alex and Oliver's story and Oliver and Tyler's story. So It will be a little more survival.
