A Spreading Fire

A fire burns in my heart

The water refuses to start

Can't put out the flame

And guess who's to blame.

Your words burn and sting

Your words built that thing

A bulwark around my heart

My fire already started

The hate and distrust

It's all a must

To build my hate fire

Because you're a liar

Broken and abandoned you

Started a fire, so leave me to

Fix what you broke again

But I'm not broken, just bent

I may be alone,

Just skin and bone

But I know the truth

You need someone to blame

So I'm glad you came

Tonight you're going to watch

Burn the old me & see the hot

Flames lick the sky while a new

Me builds what is long over due

I'm free now

Let me take a bow

I'm strong, better than ever

And I plan to be like this forever.
