A man with short and spiky blonde hair, wearing a black hoodie (with the hood on) and black gloves, stood in the darkness, with the moon as the only light source, while holding a knife, talking to another man with short black hair— wearing a long- sleeved shirt.
"We have some unfinished business, my friend. Give me the money," the blonde haired man ordered.
"Look man, I still don't have money. Just...just give me some more time. O-okay," the black haired man said, nervously.
"It's been over a year, man. You have to pay or else, you're gonna pay it with your life," the other man threatened.
"Just...p-please! Give me some more time!" the other pleaded.
"Time's up! Looks like I have no other choice," the blonde man said. "Happy new year." *SHACK* The man stabbed the other with his knife on the chest, left the knife on the chest, and then ran away.
/January 1, 2030; 12:03 am, Lawton Investigations Office~ Vesgate Lawton's POV/
"Thank you, Dad," I said to my dad on the other side of the phone. "Happy new year, too!...okay, bye."
"Here you go Lawton, you are now officially a detective and in a new year also. What a coincidence," I said to myself.
I put on my dark blue trench coat over my long-sleeved polo tied with a blue striped necktie and left it opened. Hey, I like blue so much. I stood in front of a big mirror, stared at my bluish-green eyes that is shined by the lights. I was wearing black pants and metallic blue shoes. I put on my detective's badge in my pocket. I tried combing my blue hair with sky blue tips in a more professional style but was unsuccessful and went back to its original position.
I sat on the sofa near my office table and turned on the TV to watch some news.
"A while ago, a man, identified as Herbert Thomson has been murdered behind the Gatewater Hotel. A man who said that he witnessed the whole incident, is currently being questioned. The police arrested the victim's younger brother named Tommy Thomson, that is found in the crime scene. Said man's fingerprints was found in the murder weapon," the news-lady reported.
"A murder occurred? Very early, this year?!" I said to myself, shocked about what happened.
"Wait! This is my chance! I'll check out and see if someone needs my help," with that said, I went out and took a taxi to Gatewater Hotel.
