Lost In You

"So I'll see you at the show tonight?" Adam asks me as I unlock the door to my apartment.
"How should I get in?" I open the door, letting him in.
"I'll meet you at the backdoor before soundcheck, so that'll be around 4?" he says, looking at me and cocking his head to the side.
"Sounds good," I reply. "Oh, would you like something to drink or something?"
"Something sounds good," he responds, a smile playing on his lips. I blush and laugh before going into my kitchen. I hear him follow me, and I look in the cupboards for some tea.
"You just had coffee, so caffeine-less tea okay?"
"Well. Hmmm. Caffeine. Mmm," he hums, crossing his arms before touching his chin as if in deep thought. He raises an eyebrow at me, and I try not to laugh.
"Yes caffeine?"
"Yes caffeine," he confirms, breaking into a grin.
"Gotcha," I respond with a laugh. I grab some tea, getting up on my tiptoes to reach it. He comes up beside me, putting some water in the kettle. "Oh, thanks," I say, opening up the tea box and pulling out two packets.
"No problem." He puts the kettle on the stove before turning it on.
"I should charge my phone," I say as I put the box of tea back in the cupboard. "I'll be right back. Make yourself at home."
"Okay," he responds, and I walk past him before going to my room. Plugging my phone into my computer, I remember that I haven't brushed my teeth. Walking out of my room and going into the bathroom, I grab my toothbrush, putting some toothpaste on it before starting to brush my teeth. I stare at my medicine cabinet, wondering if I should finally flush my blades. "I can make your pain go away." I hear Adam's words in my head. If I'm going on tour with them, I'll be with him. He can make me feel safe. Maybe I won't need them anymore. Serious thoughts for someone standing in her bathroom brushing her teeth. I spit out the toothpaste before rinsing out my mouth and putting my toothbrush back. I realize that I haven't even changed since yesterday, so I go back into my room and go over to my closet. Grabbing some clean underwear, I change and pull on some black jeans, tossing my worn clothes to the side. I take off my hoodie and shirt, leaving only my bra on.
"Where is it?" I mutter under my breath as I dig around in my messy closet for the matching bra.
"Hey Eve—"
I scream in surprise, spinning around to see Adam standing in the doorway. "ADAM!" I shriek, crossing my arms over my chest. My face heats up, and my heart feels like it's about to burst out of my chest.
"OH FUCK YOU'RE NAKED," he shouts back, covering his mouth and taking a step back.
"FUCKING HELL, ADAM!"
"I'M SORRY!" He practically stumbles over his own feet as he tries to leave. "YOU LOOK HOT BY THE WAY," he calls after a moment. I blush deeply as I go back to searching for my bra. I finally find it and change quickly, pulling on a long sleeved shirt and a black sweater. I leave my room and walk into the kitchen to see Adam sitting at the table with two cups of tea in front of him. He opens his mouth as soon as he sees me, but I shake my head.
"It's fine." I sit across from him. "Thanks for making the tea."
"Yeah. Of course."
"Where are the guys, by the way?" I ask, taking a sip of tea.
"They're already at the venue," he replies, playing with the handle of his mug, his fingers sliding over it smoothly.
"Okay. That's good. I wouldn't particularly want them hearing things like "Oh fuck you're naked!"" I laugh, mimicking his tone.
"Neil would probably not shut up about it for the remainder of the tour," he responds with a chuckle. He takes a sip of tea, and I watch him. It's strange how I'm mesmerized by his movements all the time. He notices me staring as he puts down his mug and says, "What? Is there something on my face?"
"No no no," I say quickly, my face flushing again. I cover my face in embarrassment, and he chuckles.
Luckily, he doesn't say anything more about it and says, "Hey, maybe you could pack now, and we could head over together. Then, we'll come around here after the show, and we'll get Neil to carry all your bags."
I uncover my face, and he's looking at me, his blue eyes sparkling in the light. I open my mouth to say something, but no words come out as I stare into his eyes. I could stare into them forever. They're such a beautiful blue—filled with kindness, passion, and right now, cheerfulness. He tilts his head to the side, and I blush again, finally snapped out of my trance. "I'm sorry. I just got lost in your eyes," I blurt out before thinking. He looks down, his cheeks turning pink as he smiles. "Oh god I can't believe I just did that," I groan, covering my face again.
"I don't know what to say," he laughs, and I uncover my face to look at him. "You know, Eve? I really love how you make me laugh. It's really nice." He smiles at me, making my heart beat faster.
"I love how you make me feel safe," I reply, and he reaches across the table, taking my hand in his. The warmth of his large hand comforts me, and I look down at our entwined hands.
"I'm glad I can make you feel safe."
