~Rins POV~

I awoke to the sound of glass shattering down stairs. I reached out for Len only to find him not there. Did he already leave for work? Wait, no. He doesn't have work today. I heard something else break and heard a groan of pain. What if Len is down there right now?! He needs my help.

I quickly run out of my room, paying no mind that I'm only in my nightgown. I hurry down the stairs. My breaths become short and fast while I'm taking the steps two at a time. I nearly trip on the last step taking a sharp turn running for the kitchen. I stand in the door way looking around frantically.

My eyes widen as I spot Len and Rinto fighting. Strangely they both freeze at the exact same time. They turn to face me and before I can blink there is a knife to my throat and an angry Len glaring behind me. Tears of fear begin to rise but I quickly suppress them. I won't give Rinto the satisfaction of knowing I'm frightened.

"Rinto? What are you doing?" Lens eyes quickly find mine and give me a 'you know this bastard?' look.

"Rin. You won't listen to me so I'm going to have to take you by force. Len won't be your Len forever. His wolf will eat him, take over his body and devour his soul. It's only a matter of time." Lens face looked as confused as mine must have been.

"It doesn't matter. I'll save him." I turn my head, careful not to let my neck come in contact with the knife, and look up at Rinto. He looked back at me like the idea was absolutely ludicrous.

"You don't understand. There is nothing you can do to save him." He leans into my ear and softly whispers, "I'm doing this to protect you."

Now I'm starting to get pissed. "No, you don't understand. He didn't get this form to get more power, he got it to save me. If Len didn't do this than I would be dead! I have no doubt in my mind so I would gladly die for him! There's nothing you can do to stop me Rinto!"

Rinto looked taken aback and confused. Len must have noticed this as his chance and quickly got me back in his arms without the knife cutting me.

"I will save him, Rinto. I'm sorry that you can't believe me and I'm thankful that you care but you can't stop me so I think it would be better for you to leave now." Rinto recovered from his shock quickly and gave me a regretful look then sent an icy glare at Len.

Len grew a sadistic and wicked looking smile that clearly meant danger. "If you refuse my lover than perhaps you need me to show you out?"

Rinto shook his head and Len seemed a bit disappointed but nodded. Rinto seemed to be in deep thought for a minute before he spoke again.

"I admire your bravery Rin and your loyalty and so I will help you. I lied before when I told you there was no way to save him."

I'm filled with some hope but mostly shock that he decided to help and literally gasped. I look over at Len excitedly and while he looks sceptical he seems to have calmed down enough to listen. Even if his grip on me never loosened.

"How? How can I do it?"

"Before I tell you I'll need to test him to see if it's even possible. If he's been like this for too long than it's pointless and his wolf already has a part of his soul, a part that we can never get back."

"Well, then, how do we test him?" I ask impatiently.

"Simple, we surround him with humans with the sweetest of smelling blood. If he's too far gone, then he won't be able to resist a taste. Do you think you can handle it Len?"

~Lens POV~

I visibly swallow from nerves. Could I do this? Just recently I nearly attacked one of my co-workers simply from a little blood. I glance down at my blonde counterpart and she meets my gaze. She's waiting for my answer. Do i accept? I have to. I have to at least try.

A stare back at Rinto and smirk smugly. "Of course I can handle it. I'm not the monster you say I am and I'll prove it. Just you watch."

He seems satisfied with my answer and speaks again. "Good. I'm having a ball tomorrow night to celebrate my little nieces birthday and you are both invited. Of course this means there will be other werewolf hunters there besides me so if you make any wrong moves you can kiss this world goodbye. This will be your test Len. Don't screw it up and waste my time. Have a good day Lady Rin."

Rin nearly scoffed at that. "I'm no longer a lady. I gave up any sort of title besides peasant a long time ago."

Rinto said nothing but simply nodded and made his way out. As he opened our front door he shouted, " Don't be late!"

Once he left I turned to Rin. "Did you mean what you said?"

"About what? Saving you?" She asked.

"Yeah." I said.

She smiled at me and replied, "Of course. I love you too much to let you go like this. Besides, who else is going to get me up in the morning? I'm sure not going to."

I chuckled as she walked over to our pantry. She pulled something out and looked over her shoulder at me. "I guess I should tell you how I met Rinto."

"I agree, I think you should."

"Then come help me cook. You know if I do it by myself I will burn the place down. I will explain at the same time."

Knowing she might just burn the place down I hurry to help her with eager ears.
