CHAPTER ONE | WOULD YOU BLEED FOR ME?

15 COMMENTS THAT DO NOT SAY "UPDATE"

"Rudy!" A loud whistle erupted in the dark night. A woman looked around the area, in search for her dog. "Rudy! Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you." The girl bent down and collected the dog toys spread out on the grass. When she turned around, Klaus and Arabella Mikaelson were behind her. The girl let out a gasp of surprise, not expressing two strangers to be behind her.

"I am so sorry, didn't mean to scare you," Klaus apologized in a faux American accent.

"Can I help you?" questioned the girl rudely. She set her hands on her hips and squared her jaw, causing Arabella's eye to twitch in annoyance.

"Yeah, our, uh, our car ran out of gas a couple miles back," stated Klaus, continuing with his American accent. He pointed behind him to emphasize the lie.

"We feel like we've been walking forever. Yours is the first house we've come to," Arabella said with a friendly smile. "I was just hoping we could use your phone." Arabella ran a hand through her hair to make it seem as if she were distressed.

"Don't you have a cellphone?" asked the girl, giving the siblings pointed looks.

Arabella and Klaus pulled their phones out, wiggling them in the air. "Yeah. Battery died," Klaus remarked. "Look, I promise I'm not a serial killer, we just want to use your phone."

The girl sighed. "Sure," she muttered.

"So, we can come in?" asked Arabella slyly, stepping forward slightly.

"No," the girl snapped. "I'll get the phone and bring it out to you." Arabella frowned and glanced at her brother.

Klaus' expression grew dark as his accent returned to normal. "I thought you country folk were supposed to be more trusting."

"I'm from Florida," the girl remarked with a sassy attitude.

"Well, that explains it," Arabella said. The strawberry-blonde rushed towards the human, clutching her throat. Arabella was more than happy to attack her, the girl was giving Arabella too much attitude and she wasn't appreciating it one bit.

"Now, show me and my brother a little Southern hospitality, sweet pea," Arabella said lowly, her hazel eyes boring into the girl's green ones.

"I bet you a hundred dollars that dog ran off to a house with air conditioning," a woman said from inside the house. She stopped her cooking when she saw Klaus and Arabella with the cowering girl from out front.

"What's going on?" questioned the woman.

"Please don't be alarmed. I'm told Ray Sutton lives here," Klaus said, keeping a grip on the girl who was looking for her dog.

"He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly," the girl informed.

"But I expect he makes it home once a month?" inquired Arabella, pushing the snippy girl from earlier forward slightly. The women stayed silent. "That's what I thought," Arabella said with a smirk.
