Gabriella Maud.

I tapped my pen softly on my desk, waiting for the bell to go. Mr Rich glared at me, annoyed. I smiled innocently. He rolled his eyes, turning back to the board. Jessica and Marley were whispering to Ryley, the new girl. The new girl was obviously loving the attention. She had been here for about a week now.

When the bell rang, I jumped up, shoving all my stuff into my bag and grabbing my coat.

"You like Logan?" Jessica asked loudly, glancing at me. She grinned evilly once she had my attention. "I could talk to him for you." I rolled my eyes at them.

"No, you wouldn't want her to do that. He might just end up in her bed." I commented, half bored. But, deep inside the pain that was always there made itself known, again. Jessica scowled at me, Marley trying to copy but failing. Ryley just gasped innocently, glancing at the two girl's in alarm.

"Um, no thank you. I think I will just leave it, Jessica." Ryley smiled at them gratefully. Jessica and Marley just scoffed, rushing off. "Thank you, by the way. I wasn't sure how to say no." I smiled gently at Ryley.

"It's fine, but you might not want to be seen with me." I answered, walking outside.

"Why? What have you ever done?" She asked, catching up with me. Ryley ignored the disgusted looks. I sighed, looking at her.

"I let go of my popularity to go out with a nerd, turns out he became popular after that and is the Logan Heartman you lot know of today." I answered, walking off again.

"Your mate, right?" Ryley asked me. I nodded, looking away. "But, you didn't tell him?" I looked at her, dumping my stuff onto the table.

"How could I tell him?" I asked. "But, that doesn't matter now. He's just to happy with the attention he gets. And now everyone hates me for 'hurting' him." Ryley sat down next to me.

"But, you didn't hurt him." Ryley asked, confussed. I shook my head, drinking my drink.

"I didn't do a thing. But, who would you believe? The person who now hold's your social life in their hands or the girl who dumped it all for one person, and a nerd at that." Ryley thought about it.

"I would still listen to you." She answered honestly, looking at me. "I mean, it shows that you don't care about popularity and cliques." I nodded at her, leaning backward's in my chair.

"Well, true. But," I glanced around the cafeteria who all had their eye's roaming Ryley. "Everyone else does. If I don't, I'm practically a outcast."

"But, your the Alpha's daughter. The daughter of Chloe and Aaron! Shouldn't they respect you?" Ryley asked, confused. I smiled sweetly at her.

"They should." I agreed. "But, they don't." Ryley thought about it, confussion all over her face.

"It doesn't make sense to me." She said finally. I shrugged.

"Look, it doesn't matter. Just go sit with Jessica and Marley, that way you'll get a good high school life." I told her, standing up. "You don't want to be stuck with the loser, after all."

I left her sitting there, confused.

Well, this is me. Gabriella Lauren Maud. The daughter of Aaron and Chloe Maud. Yes, my parent's are the one's who got hurt trying to keep each other happy. Weird, right? But, at least their happy.

Then there's Nathan Maud, my brother. He's 5, and a total cutie! Mom loves him, and dad just adores everything about his family.

That night, I walked down the stairs sighing. I hadn't told my parents about the popular thing. I didn't think it concerned them. Walking into the kitchen, Nathan grinned at me.

"Gabriella." My father's voice boomed. I cringed, turning to look at him. Him and mom stood, dads arms crossed while mom's where on her hips.

"Yes daddy?" I asked innocently. His face softened before mom slapped his chest, making it harden again.

"Why didn't you tell us about the people at school?" Mom started, making me roll my eye's.

"Yes, Gabriella. Why not? Mr Fitch just phoned, informing us that his daughter had witnessed a lot of things that were wrong. Starting with your mate rejecting you!" Dad bellowed. I flinched.

"Yeah, dad. Because that's the type of conversation I want to have. 'Hey dad! How's the weather? Great? Oh, just to tell you my MATE rejected me. You know, the guy who's supposed to love me no matter what? Yeah, him'" I said sarcastically. Dad's face softened again. Mom just looked at me, her face holding one of pain.

"I-I'm sorry, Ella." Dad said softly, walking forward's. "I-I didn't realise. I thought-I thought you just didn't trust us." I snorted, looking at him.

"Dad, you killed your ex wife just to have mom. Why wouldn't I trust you?" I asked. He shrugged. I sighed. "Yeah, I didn't tell you. But, that's because I thought that if I told you, I would have to come to face the fact that he didn't want me." I wiped the stray tear away.

"Oh, my baby." Mom rushed forward's, grabbing me into a hug. "Shh."

"Who is he?" Dad asked, his voice cold and tight.

"Logan Heartman." I answered, looking at the wall.

"Logan? Darren's son?" Dad asked, confused. "He's the sweetest, smartest guy I know!"

"Yeah. I gave up my rep for him, but he rejected me. Then, he became popular and has a new slut everyday." I answered. Mom gasped.

"He's imprinted?!" I shook my head, clutching my shirt.

"But it still hurts. I know he does it, and I know that he still has no clue why I asked him out." I whispered, looking away.

"You didn't tell him." I shook my head. "Baby, look at me." I looked up at my mother, wiping away my tears. "You should have told him. Told us. We want to help you." She said softly. I nodded.

"I just, just didn't want to come to face the fact that he rejected me." I muttered.

"Maybe if you told him you were mates, he wouldn't have rejected you." Dad pointed out, rubbing circles in my lower back.

"Maybe."
