Chapter Two.
"MOVE IT, LOSER!" Someone shoved me into a locker, making me drop my books. I sighed heavily, my patience wearing thin.
Three weeks. Three very long weeks since my parent's found out. Their having a meeting tonight about it, even after my very long and very depressing examples of what will happen.
"Here, let me help." Ryley said, crouching down and helping me.
"Thanks." I said quietly, taking my books off her.
"It's fine." She said, walking by my side to my locker. "I'm sorry for telling my dad." I flinched, but never spoke. "I didn't mean to. It just, came out. I was saying how much of a nice person you were when ... it slipped out. I seriously didn't mean for it to."
"It's fine, Ryley. You didn't mean to, I understand." She smiled wearily, nodding. I sighed. "Ryley, why are you here?" I asked bluntly.
"Because. You deserve to have a friend. You did nothing, and I'm not gonna stand about and watch a girl as nice and as pretty as you have to suffer from someone who's supposed to love you's mistakes. It's wrong." I smiled sadly at Ryley. "So, that's why I told Marley and Jessica to f*ck off." I slammed my locker, looking at her shocked.
"You what?! Why?!" She smiled, holding out a piece of paper.
"Because. Your friendship would mean much more to me than having the whole school be my fake-friend."
"Thank you." I said quietly, taking the paper.
"It's no problem. I mean it, Gabbi. You deserve a friend. Heck, you deserve loads of friends. But, the heartless whore's here won't be that. So, I will." She grinned at me, linking her arms through mine.
I couldn't help but smile. She smiled back, leading me to English.
"And, plus. Now I've got an excuse to sit away from the hoes. They were starting to annoy me." I snorted, sliding into my seat. The bell rang and Ryley sat next to me.
"Annoy is a total understatement." She nodded in agreement, tapping her pen against the table.
"What the hell is she doing sitting with the freak?" Devin, a girl who has always hated me whispered loudly as she sat in front of us.
"What the hell are you doing talking so loud?" Ryley said back, smiling falsely at her.
"Oh. She's turned you into a bitch too, huh?" I couldn't help but laugh at that. "What are you laughing at, freak?"
"Me, turn her into a bitch? Oh, that is so rich coming from you." I said. Ryley laughed, nodding.
"So true."
"Oh my gosh, did you hear about what Ryley did to Logan?" I tuned out, looking at Ryley.
"Oh my gosh," I copied, earning a lot of looks from around the room. "Did you hear about Jessica going to the STI clinic?" Ryley giggled, nodding.
"I know! Did you see that picture?! She was totally chatting up that old doctor." I laughed along, nodding.
"Whore." Calvin coughed, walking past.
"You shouldn't talk about yourself so openly, Calvin." Ryley said sweetly, making me laugh. He scowled at her, taking his seat.
The door opened, and my dad walked in.
"I'm your sub today." He said in a totally bored voice.
"Don't whine, Aaron. Just do the job." My mom walked in, scowling at my dad.
