Chapter Four.

The next day in school, more people talked to me. Logan smiled at me every time he saw me and basically everyone said 'hi' at one point. To be honest, it was creeping me out. I mean, I go from the loser of the school  who no one talks to to the person everyone wants to talk to and is nice to. Weird, if you ask me. 

It got even weirder as the day went on. In class, everyone wanted to be my partner. Guys were extremely nice to me, if you know what I mean. Teachers smiled more and even Jessica and Marley tried to be my friends again. 

But, the weirdest of all? That prize had to go to English. 

I was sitting in my English class, Ryley and me the only ones on the table when the TV in the corner switched on for the announcements. This is usually made in the morning, but today it wasn't because they were going to announce Prom King and Queen nominations (Prom is like, a month away) and they were telling us the results from the Valedictorian vote. (They wanted to do this early so that the exam results weren't included, weird again if you ask me)

"Afternoon students! This is Micheal Molongo speaking!" Micheal shouted down the mic. Yes, select students do the announcements, mostly detention students. "And the nominations for prom king and queen are in! The three king nominees are," He paused, looking down at the paper. "Jordan Stereo!" I heard some cheers from around the school, weirdly enough. "Curtis Malcom!" More cheers. "And, finally. Logan Heartman!" Our class, except me(mentally, I did) cheered really loudly. 

"Uh, thanks?" Logan muttered, making me laugh silently. 

"And, the Queen nominees are..." He trailed off, looking at the paper. "There is only two on here?" He called to someone. "What?" He yelled louder. "No way! Really?" I rolled my eyes at this. "Wow, uh, OK. The first nominee is... Jessica Retchman!" The guys cheered loudly as Jessica stood up and bowed. "And, the last one is..." Micheal blinked at the paper. "The new chick?" He asked, looking up. I turned to Ryley, who looked confused. "Eh, she is hot. Ryley Fitch!" 

"I what?" She asked, looking at the TV. 

"Anyways, to add to this, there was only two nominees for Queen because the third is Valedictorian and mister over there thought it would be unfair to let her have two spotlights. I find this unfair because the girl is totally banging, but there you go. It's my opinion. Anyways, this girl is..." He trailed off for dramatic effect. "Gabriella Maud!" 

"Uh, what?" I asked this time, making Ryley laugh. "I didn't even sign up for it!" 

"You don't need to," A jock in front of me informed. "It's basically the students with the highest grades put on a slip for us to vote. And, most people probably voted for you to watch you slip up, but now everyone loves you." 

"Ah, makes sence." I muttered sarcastically. Ryley giggled, nodding. 

And that, is how my weird year started.
