Chapter Three.
We walked down in silence. The meeting room was silent except from my dads voice. It was cold, to say the least. I could hear every word my dad said from the stairs, that's how quiet it was.
Ryley smiled sadly at me before knocking at the door. "Yes?" My dad asked.
"Mr Maud, I'm sorry i'm late. But, I had to go and see Gabbi and managed to convince her to come down." Ryley said with respect.
"You did?!" My dad asked, his voice no longer cold.
"Yeah." Ryley grabbed my arm, dragging me into the room.
"Hi daddy." I said, smiling small. He grinned, jumping down from the stage and rushing towards me. He hugged me, saying sorry over and over again. "It's fine, daddy. I know you didn't mean it." I whispered. I felt his grin.
"Good." I smiled sadly. "Anyways, there's food in the kitchen." I nodded, turning and walking into the kitchen.
"Gabbi..." I heard the door shut as his scent hit me. "I am so sorry. I didn't know, and if I did I would never have rejected you. I know i've been worse than a prick, but please. Believe me." I looked at him.
"Logan, I know you didn't know. I didn't tell you, I get it." He nodded at me.
"But?"
"How did you know there was a but?" I asked. He grinned.
"The way you spoke."
"But, you rejected me, f*cked a lot of random girls and treated me WORSE than the crap on your shoe. For more than 6 months, Logan. I get you didn't know, but 6 months. How can I go out with you, mate with you when for 6 months straight you treated me like shit?"
"I understand Gabbi, I do. But, don't rule us out. Please. I want to try and win you back, I promise you I will. Just ... don't quit before we start."
"OK. I won't. But, i'm not gonna wait forever, Logan. I'm not gonna wait for you to have your fun THEN choose me. I'm sick of being the second option." Logan walked forwards, gently placing his hand on my cheek.
"You would never have been my second option if you told me." I sighed lightly, leaning into his hand.
"I know." I said quietly. "But, I couldn't figure out how to tell you. I thought that you might piece it together, but you didn't." Logan laughed lowly, leaning his forehead on mine.
"I wish you told me. Then we could have been together, happy. Gab's, I've been waiting for you for ages. I used those girls to fill the emptiness I felt." His breath puffed into my face. "You know, when I was a nerd I always had a crush on you."
"You did?" I asked, curiously. He nodded.
"Yep. Then, when you asked me out I panicked. I thought you were going to make fun of me if I said yes, so I rejected. Then, everyone started to talk to me and I became popular." He laughed bitterly. "But I would throw everything away for you." I pulled away.
"That's the thing, Logan." I gulped, looking deep into his eyes. "I don't think you could. You seem so happy, so ... into it that I don't think you could throw it all away to be committed."
"I would throw everything away for my mate." He looked at me with pain and panic in his eyes. "I would do anything for you." I watched him closely. "Anything." He repeated.
"Honestly?" I asked. He smiled softly at me, placing his hands on my cheeks.
"Honestly. I would do anything for you." I smiled back, nodding.
I seriously hope he means it...
