CHAPTER 2

"So sir, what do u have to say about it.?" Jack asked.

They were in a conference room and an important discussion was going on, on expanding the Matthew Enterprises and opening more branches in other parts of London. 

"Huh? Umm.. yeah.. what? What, what were u saying Jack?" 

Ryan stammered. He was day dreaming, he had no idea of what was going on.  

"Well ladies and gentlemen I think we will have to dismiss this session now, Mr Matthew is'nt really feeling well. Are you sir?"asked Jack with an ugly look on his face.  

"Ohh yaah. I guess Jack is right." Ryan said and everyone else left. 

"What is it sir? It has never happened before. You didn't hear a word that was spoken in the conference. Is everything okay?"  

"Yes yes everything is okay, I think you are right I am not feeling well, I ll see you later." He said and walked out of the room.  

"Sir! Tie your shoe lace, its open!" Jack shouted from behind.  

"Don't worry young man!" Ryan shouted back.

He sat on one of the entrance reception desks, belonging to Jack, bent down and while he was tying his shoe lace, someone walked in and said, 

"Excuse me? Can you please fix me an appointment with the CEO? ".  

It was a girl's voice. He didn't bother to reply, he was still bent and tying his lace. She spoke again and a bit louder this time

"Are you listening Mr.? Can you fix...."

"Patience lady, patience, stop shouting."

Ryan blurted and then got up.

He was shell shocked. The girl spoke again 

" I wasn't shouti..".

"YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?."

The girl was none other than Lisa. 

"Relax man. I am here to apply for the post of the managing director. So could you whatever-your-name-is fix an appointment for me with the CEO ?" 

Ryan was dumb struck. 

He had no clue of how to react. All he knew, was that the girl standing in front of him was Lisa and she was beautiful. "You are the prettiest woman I have ever seen" He said out loud.  

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?" 

"What did I just say." He repeated. His muscles had gone week. 

'Ohh no' he wondered. 

"Nothing, it just slipped out of my mouth" 

"Is this some kind of a joke?" She stamped her foot loudly. Everyone else present in the office were staring at the two of them constantly. They were wondering what had gone wrong with their boss and how dare that girl talked to him like that. One of the staff member's walked towards them.

"Stop Stephen, get and application form for Lisa to fill up."  

Shocked Stephen followed the orders. 

"How did you know my name?" 

'Ohh no, what to say now?'  

"I saw your photo and biodata on the online registration form." He made the wildest guess. 

"Ohh okay." She replied. 

'Whoa. Great job Ryan' he applauded himself. 

"You are Jack right?" She said while pointing towards the placard kept on the desk. 

"Err.. yes I am Jack, Jack Taylor" Ryan lied.

"I am Lisa Robinson as you already know!" 

'I just knew Lisa, not the Robinson part!' He grinned. 

The two of them shook hands. It was the first physical contact Ryan had made with her, and he was already dreaming of making love to her! 

Lisa filled up the form and was waiting for the meeting.

Ryan quickly ran to his office and called Jack inside.

"Listen Jack, you have to be me for today". Ryan told Jack 

"Be what? You? Sir, are you kidding me?" Jack had his signature expression. A perfect frown. 

"No I am serious Jack. Just do me this favor please. All you have to do is act as if you are me and appoint that girl sitting outside" he pointed towards the impatient lisa sitting outside on the couch "Yaah, that one as the Managing Director."  

"But sir, what if she isn't qualified enough for the post?" 

"You don't worry about that, I'll see to it later, right now you just do as I say, and by the way, stop calling me sir for now, you are the CEO, so act like one" 

"What should I call you then, sir? " Jack questioned.

"Again sir! Call me Jack" Ryan winked at him. 

" And now, call her inside. She seems so impateint that if we make her wait another second, she will bang our heads on the table! " smirked Ryan. 

"As you wish sir, ohh sorry, Jack." Jack smiled.

Lisa was called inside and Ryan left the room.

"Good evening sir. I am Lisa."  She said politely.

"Good evening Lisa, please sit down." 

Jack asked her a few random questions and the interview was over. 

"Congratulations Lisa, you are now a member of our company. I hope you like it here"

"Thankyou very much Sir." 

Just then, Ryan came inside. 

"Meet my personal secretary, Jack, he will explain you the other details." Jack told Lisa. 

"Okay sir" and she left.

"Great job Jack! I knew you could do it!" Ryan applauded him.

"It was good sir, she really is eligible for this job, But now that she is a memeber of our company and will be coming every day, how long will we continue this drama? And why are we even doing it?" Enquired Jack. 

"Ohh Jack, you ask too much, I will explain it to you when I myself figure out what is happening, also inform the other staff members not to tell her that you are Jack and I am Ryan. Tell them its my order." 

"Sure sir, but someday she will get to know!" 

"Leave that tension for that 'someday' Jack!"
