CHAPTER 1

Ryan Matthew was sitting in his lavish office and staring at the brown wall. He didn't like that colour any more. It had probably been four times that he had got it repainted with different shades, but everytime it seemed as if no color suited it. It was strange, he wasn't able to decide the perfect color. Otherwise, he was perfect in everything, the way he looked or dressed or even what he did, be it making decisions in personal life or professional. After all, he was the building block of 'Matthew Enterprises', a chain of luxury hotels and restaurants in London.

There was a knock at the door. "Come in" he said.

"Sir I have kept the remaining letters in the top most drawer. One of them is from 'The Star Group' so, do have a look at them, they are the important ones ", said Jack Taylor, his personal secretary.

It was difficult for him to choose the correct secretary. There were hundreds of women wanting to be one. Instead, he went for a short, bald man, a few years elder to him but more efficient than he could have ever imagined.

" Ohh dear Jack you worry a lot, now you can go, I will take a look at them. Your wife must be waiting!" And he winked before Jack left the office with a broad smile, probably thinking of his lovely soulmate.

A few hours later, Ryan decided to read the letters.

"One, two, three......and nine. NINE letters! Ohh God. And Jack wants me to read all of them!"

He started reading and finally he reached the last one.

" 'To Ben Harding'. Umm. How come Jack didn't notice this one? It's a miss addressed letter!", so he put it away.

He wasn't someone who would read someone else's letter, plus he didn't even bother. But while he was throwing it away, something fell out of the envelope.

"Photographs?" He mumbled and picked them up. The first one was of a couple. A girl. A rather beautiful girl. Actually the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on, although there were hundreds of good looking women drooling over him all the time, but he had never noticed anyone particularly. This one was different. What he noticed next was the boy whom she stood next to. Average looking. He then looked at the other picture. The same beautiful girl with the same guy standing on a beach. In this photo, he saw something peculiar in the girl's eyes.

What was it he wondered. She didn't seem happy to him, although she was smiling but there was something strange about that photo which made him curious to read the letter, so he unfolded it and started reading.

Beloved Ben,

Subject : I just wanted you to know......

I was 16 when I was first touched by the feeling of love, or maybe it was just attraction. As usual like any other unhappy love story, he liked someone else. She was obviously prettier than me. I didn't have much chance then. But then after a few years, I was in love again, with another guy. We were friends for about a year and then best friends for the next 2 years. I never knew whether he felt the same about me or not but he did feel the way I felt for him for my best friend Ana.

It was very hard for me to overcome that fact. I didn't want to be the 'villan' in their love story and break them apart, I knew I was a good person and God wouldn't let anything bad happen to me in the later years. I always thought of a perfect life with someone I would love and he would love me back just the way I am.

And I thought that, that person was you. I dont know whether you have read this far or not. If you haven't then I wish you best of luck for life and I will pray to God that you find someone who is better than me and loves you more than I can ever.

But if you are still reading then throw this letter after reading it completely.

I also remember giving relationship advices to so many friends of mine, I was always single and everyone around me was dating. It used to be awkward sometimes listening to break up stories and I used to wonder whether something of this sort would ever happen to me? Well, guess what? This is worse than that. I can't put in words what it is like without you. I don't know what to feel. Whether be sad about loosing you or happy about the moments I spent with you, or be patient and wait for a perfect ending? I don't know how you feel. I thought that you loved me, but now that I know that you didn't so, read carefully :

1) I AM NOT A LOSER LIKE YOU.

2) I AM NOT GOING TO SUICIDE OR HARM MYSELF JUST BECAUSE YOU LEFT ME.

3) I STILL BELIEVE IN TRUE LOVE, IF OUR LOVE STORY ENDED THAT MEANS IT WASN'T TRUE.

4) THERE MUST BE SOMEONE WAITING FOR ME SOMEWHERE SO I WILL NOT LOOSE HOPE

5) DO HELL WITH YOUR LIFE , I DON'T CARE

6) STILL READING? ISN'T THIS MUCH ENOUGH FOR YOU AS*HOL*? THEN READ AHEAD.

7) I AM WRITING THIS, DOESN'T MEAN THAT I DIDN'T LOVE YOU, I DID, BUT U DON'T DESERVE IT ANY MORE.

8) NOW YOU MEAN NOTHING TO ME, NEVER SHOW ME YOUR FACE AGAIN.

9) WE MAY LOVE THE WRONG PERSON,

AND CRY OVER THE WRONG PERSON

BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE

MISTAKES LET US FIND THE RIGHT PERSON

10) The refill is almost over, SO I AM NOT WRITING MORE AND WASTING MY TIME ON A JERK LIKE YOU!

If you hadn't expected the above from me. Well let me tell you something, you didn't know me well.

With love <--dont take it literally, it's a formality + sarcasm

Lisa

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Holy shit! What the hell was that? Is this girl a maniac? She wrote such a letter and posted on the wrong address!"He blabbered. He now had a faint idea about Ben's and Lisa's life. But it was very confusing for him to understand whether Lisa actually loved Ben or not.

"Wait a minute. Why does that bother me? I don't care!"

With that, he was about to throw the letter in the bin but then the photograph caught his eye once again. This time he looked closely at it.

"She is so pretty. What a fool of Ben to leave a girl like that" and then suddenly he had a strange urge to know Lisa personally. He had no idea about why he felt like that. He copied down Lisa's address from the letter on a notepad and then kept it with the two photographs in the drawer and left.

The next morning he came early to the office and sent one of his staff members to look for the phone number belonging to that address. It wasn't a tough job to find it after all he had all the resources. And now that he had her number, he didn't know what to do. First of all he was in a mess, he had no idea why he was doing whatever he was doing and second, he didn't want to waste time on love and relationships, although he believed in love. But then true love stories only exist in fairytales!
