Chapter One

Chapter One: New school...New Raven?

-Raven Knight-

It is the first day of school and I, unlike my twin, am not looking forward to it.

After dressing I sit on my bed and stare across my room into the full length mirror that hangs on my closet door.

The girl staring back at me did not look like myself.

"Come on Raven. You're a freaking Vigilante for pete's sake. Nothing should scare you." I hiss at my reflection.

Rubbing my forehead I groan at a sudden headache.
Fan-freaking-tastic. A storm is coming.

Ever since coming to Forks, I have been able to sense a coming storm and am seriously  starting to consider taking my pain pills to dull this migraine.

My medicine will lock down my powers though and I will need that to not happen while I am at school.
Seriously, people are idiots.

My door flies open making me jump, and making Scarlet laugh lightly.

"What's up sis? Are you ready?"

I sigh, "Ready as I'll ever be."

Following my eager sister out of the house and into Scarlet's car, we begin to head to school.

Scarlet turns on the radio and begins to sing along to her favorite band, Fall Out boy, and their song, 'The Phoenix'. It's an upbeat song that I usually would join my sister in rocking out to,  but today, I just do not feel like it.

Scarlet decides not to ask why, but continues to glance at me.

By the time we pull into the Forks High School parking lot, I am ready to scream bloody murder my head is killing me so badly.

Get it together Raven. You can do this.

Scarlet links our arms together and we proceed up the steps ignoring all the curious glances.

When we make it to the front office, I am already wishing I was back in New York.
But then again... Forks isn't all bad.

Rubbing my head again, I smile when I hear rain begin to pelt the windows. Spot on as always.

"Hi, I'm Scarlet and this is my sister Raven. Can we get our papers?"

The front desk lady smiles as she glances between us, trying to figure out the differences between us. Well it isn't that hard. For one our hair colors are different. Scarlet's red and mind is pitch black.

Why do you think we have these names?

Once we get our things, Scarlet and I head to our lockers which are side by side to one another, which of course, is awesome.

Putting my combo in the dial, I open the locker and smile turning to Scarlet. The locker is filled with lightning bolts and pictures of Scarlet and I back in New York and on the door is a mirror at my height.

"Thanks sis."

Scarlet smiles and nods before closing her locker as well as mine. We compare our class periods.

Scarlet and I only have Gym, lunch and free period together.

"Bummer." We both say exactly at the same time.

Laughing together as well, We both head off to gym. One of our favorite classes.

During Gym we are playing Volleyball. Of course due to my time as a vigilante, I am as fit and athletic as ever. My sister is too because she just loves playing sports

One girl, whom was the one at the airport that I assume is pregnant, hit the ball sideways and hits Scarlet in the head.

"Ow!"

The girl flinches at my glare as I rush over to Scarlet.

Blood is oozing out of a small wound on Scarlet's head.

Trying to contain my anger and instead focusing on my sister, I help Scarlet onto my back.

Walking steadily past the girl I hiss lowly just enough for her to hear, "Pregnant little bitch."

She turns to me and her jaw drops.
If she could look any dumber....Well she can't. that would be impossible.

Jogging towards the front entrance of the school, returning stares with glares, I get Scarlet to her car and sit her down in the passenger side before driving to Forks Hospital. Amanda works there as a doctor so I was assured that Scarlet will get treated quickly and efficiently.

Walking into the lobby much the same way that I walked out of the school, with Scarlet on my back I see a nurse rush towards us obviously seeing the blood on both my sister and I.

They quickly rush her into a room to get sewn back up.

-Scarlet Knight-

My head is freaking killing me. And it doesn't help the fact that I can feel Raven's headache in my own.

Opening my eyes carefully after being lied down, Raven throws me a small smile as she holds my hand. We are in a hospital room.

"Hey sis. What happened?"

"Volleyball, Stupid girl that doesn't know how to hit a ball correctly...what does that add up to?"

I laugh. Ah so that's what went down.

"And you won't believe this either, but I am pretty sure that's she pregnant."

I laugh lightly again.

"So no wonder I didn't see guts on the gym floor."

Raven laughs quietly.

"True, very true."

It is, since Raven has taken a vow to never hurt a pregnant women. We both believe that a woman carrying a baby is a precious thing.

Before either of us can say anymore, a doctor comes into the room.
And his features bewilder me. He's pale skinned and has blonde hair. And when his eyes flicker over to me they are a bright gold. I have seen many different eye colors from Raven, since hers shift according to her moods and a few things she does.

"I'm Doctor Cullen. What happened here?" The doctor asks, his voice smooth and musical.

Raven answers for me, "Gym. Some girl hit her head with a volleyball."

I turn to her, "Ironic isn't it?"

"That she turns out to be someone I can't give a good beat down? Yeah. Sure. Just wait." Raven scoffs.

Doctor Cullen smiles lightly, "How are you feeling..."

"Scarlet. And I feel like someone's pounding the inside of my head with a hammer."

He takes my wrist in his hand and I flinch his skin is colder than ice.

He either ignores my reaction or doesn't notice.

After getting five stitches in my head, We are free to leave.
